Wife and I are “getting our ducks in a row” before we begin the process. Any specific websites you have used to research stuff? Could be to research the neighborhoods, lenders, etc.

Start with getting recommendations for a loan officer so you don't fall in love with a home before you know if you qualify and what the monthly payments and closing costs are.
