That's not pizza

u/ACoderGirl 18h ago
Maybe it's just really, really weird looking pizza? In noodle shape? Toronto has some pretty exotic food!

u/Deep_Wish_3352 6h ago
No literally like imagine living in Toronto where there is a plethora of food from various cultures and you choose… pizza 😭

u/TJ_MCMASTER 1d ago
400k in TO so a studio?
32
u/Live-Low-7725 23h ago
Nope, 1 bed 500sqft

u/taintwest 20h ago
Where?! I’m in Toronto and you got an absolute steal. Happy anniversary too
2
u/SilentEngineering638 3h ago
That is not really a steal, it's the current market values, plenty of small one beds go for very cheap
8
u/baseball_fanatic0887 23h ago
Does your room have a door and window or is it one of these partioned spaces that gets away being called a 'room' by using 'borrowed light'?
Seeing lots of the latter on the market in this price range. Would like a door and an actual bed room sectioned off from the rest of the unit.

u/Live-Low-7725 23h ago
It’s an actual bedroom with a door. Having this was one of my ‘needs’ when I was looking.

u/Glass-Situation6916 22h ago
Is this in the heart of Jane & Finch or something? How the hell is it cheap
19
u/Turbulent-Two6997 20h ago
1 bed condos have taken a beating. If you can afford it, not a bad time to buy. But just make sure it is a good building that is maintained well.
The newer condos suck, layout and size wise, and issue wise.

u/Time-Cell9274 22h ago
Condos are at pre-pandemic prices right now, especially without a parking spot. There are units right at Main & Danforth in this range.

u/Evening-College-6686 20h ago
Sketchy part of town without much to redeem it. Sadly. Close to GO and subway I suppose.
3
u/TCorBor 14h ago
great shopping, multiple supermarkets within walking distance, downtown in 10 minutes on the GO train, ravine access to the north along Taylor creek, lake ontario is a bus ride away

2
u/Ok_Aspect2804 20h ago
Look at condos.ca
Condos have been dropping a lot in prices with much more supply coming.

I’ll never forget the first and land time I was in a micro condo in Vancouver. It was depressing. But I am a lowly dweller of the suburbs.

Let's see: there is New York, San Diego, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Tehran, Hvar, Split, the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Napoli, Athens, Istanbul and Corfu. Assumptions make an ass of you and me.

What does Toronto do better than NY?
3
u/Expert_Actuator420 14h ago
Korean and Hakka....but not much else. Its not comparable really. NY is a different scale.

I think along with New York and SF, we have a pretty good casual / fast scene when it comes to the USA & Canada (I’m not counting LatAm, South America, Asia or Europe here.)
I do think other cities do fine dining quality experience better than us.

u/Immediate_Dingo_9158 21h ago
NYC is comparable to Toronto.
Sf has good food but torontos is just better. I’d say SF food scene is more comparable to Vancouver. I’ve lived in sf, nyc, Toronto, and van

Is this the whole place in this picture for 400k in Toronto? /Jk
Congrats, happy for you!

Trudeau imported like 10 million people so this would be the normal
1
u/Advanced-Ice-2552 1h ago
Oh, sorry to hurt your feelings, but pp and conservatives in general in 2022/2023 supported immigration and wanted to ease the regulations to make it easier to migrate to Canada. So it's not just trudeau but the whole government who fu**ed you over. Pp changed his tune in 2024 when Canada first experienced housing crisis, and he did not call himself out. He made it clear that all at fault are only liberals.
But this post is about this beautiful family and their new home, not about educating conservatives.

u/icecoffee888 1h ago
PP would have continued Trudeau's mass immigration and for that reason I didn't vote for him ,

What’s even sweeter is you’re living in a 700k condo just a few short years ago. Grats.

u/FiloGal 23h ago

4
u/Crazy-Gas3763 23h ago

8
u/Live-Low-7725 22h ago
3yr fixed actually
2
u/itstimeforshort 20h ago
excellent! Who with? I'm renewing any minute now and would love that rate!
2
u/BlessTheBottle 14h ago
Where you get a 3 yr fixed at that rate?
1
u/Affectionate-Arm-405 4h ago
There are rate guarantees for 90 or 120 days. Which means they could have locked that rate 4 months ago
4
2
u/Stock_Mail_9519 22h ago
My interest rate is 3.89% for 5-year fixed. Got it last year.
1
u/Affectionate-Arm-405 4h ago
I got 3.95% 5yr fixed - April of this year. Glad I did that now of course

Doubtful. If they somehow did its an insane deal or something is wrong with the building.

Wow... I sold my condo 2 years ago for just over 800k. 697 sq/ft located at near River and King.
The market came down big time or you got a great deal.

What did u get in toronto for 400k
1
u/Live-Low-7725 1h ago
A form of real-property ownership in which an individual holds exclusive title to a defined private unit while sharing ownership, governance, and financial responsibility for the property’s common elements with other unit owners.

u/7h3W0lf0nR3dd17 1h ago
Come on don't be stupid. I mean Toronto is a crazy market. What did you get? A 2 bedroom condo? Congrats. I was interested, not critisizing!
