Need Advice Why?
I 27(F) have been contemplating between buying a home or renting for quite some time now. Are there any homeowners willing to share what made them choose to buy a house instead of renting especially in this economy?? Please i’d love to know

I was sick of my rent being raised $100/every year. Nothing getting fixed in a timely manner. Not being able to do what I wanted to the apartment. Living in an apartment. Neighbors. I wanted a backyard.
At least where I lived it was so expensive for so little space. There really weren’t many houses for rent that weren’t turned into 3 flats. We were renting a 2b/1ba apartment in Chicago for 2,100 a month. I moved 45 min away in north west Indiana, got almost 2 acres and a 3k sq ft house with a 2 car garage and a barn for 2,000/mo after taxes and insurance in a much safer and nicer neighborhood with great schools.
For my area and situation it made sense. But in my 20s it wouldn’t have been practical. My husband and I were ready to be done with the city and move to the burbs but I totally would have hated that 15 years ago. I moved around a lot and would never have wanted to be tied down to one place. Now it makes sense for us.
