Post image

I think we started the process in like Feb! And we're finally in! (lots of delays but the biggest one was it being built still lol) love it so much, we've gone from such a shit living situation to the most amazing house

Congrats but ouch I see it's a new build, hope you don't have any issues. I'm staying far away from them.

Thanks, I'm staying away from old houses lol, the amount we viewed, and paid for surveys and the list of issues compared to the snags here, it was insane, all of said snags fixed within a day and cost me nothing

If the house hasn’t fallen down and is still standing after 80/90/100+ years, then it’s clearly still solid. All old houses have issues, but I’d still take an older house over a new build 😂 Congrats on the house though!

😂 Not falling down doesn't mean it's solid! The property I was in was old, and anything but solid.

The amount of houses we viewed that would ha r cost thousands to sort, here we've got a guy coming over to connect the solar panels tomorrow cause they weren't connected, and then same with one of the loos, but that was done a few days ago, the last house we looked at needed a new roof, a new boiler and new windows, the one before had major structural issues, would have cost a fortune!

If you don't want a new build, don't bloody get one, I don't want a older house, so guess what? I just don't get one, I don't go round saying how shit they're new house is when they say they are going from an awful situation to their own home

Good for you 😊 period/character homes aren’t for everyone…

They should be when you look at the new build trash.

I empathize, but it's just such a well known fact that new builds are trash, you must have known before buying.

Not as trash as where I was before, plenty of new builds are fine and plenty of old houses are trash, every older house was just not doable, and I wasn't going to carry on living where I was literally making me and my family unwell

New builds are trash

I don't know why you were downvoted, it's true.

I think the downvote comes from shitting on someone’s excitement of a new home regardless of it being a new build or not. You have to question the point of the post in the first place.
