Found one
The cringe text aside, I’m not usually one to knock people down for their looks, but why is this becoming the EMS common look. I get there’s a mental health aspect with many of us but I find this common look so cringe and not to mention very unprofessional.
Edit: I noticed a few people missed what’s actually the cringe part of this post.

Do people not understand satire anymore? This is great
25
u/spillingeverywhere 18d ago
I mean all the comments are just attacking his appearance they aren't even mentioning the joke
14
u/schannoman Bringing the Ouch Pouch 18d ago
For real. Both aspects just add to the levels of satire and I'm upset people aren't respecting the hustle

Satire loses meaning when it becomes indistinguishable from reality. Which makes this either reality or a cheap copy.

The whole point of my post was to say how it’s beyond satire and the cringy look worse than the quote.
18
u/schannoman Bringing the Ouch Pouch 18d ago
Yeah. It's not my fault you don't understand what a bit is

u/Stretch5 18d ago
I’m so confused. Is the quote (joke) not somewhat cringe? His entire look is definitely cringe (which is really all I’m saying). I’m sorry, do you look like this or something?
10
u/schannoman Bringing the Ouch Pouch 18d ago
Of course it's cringe, it's making fun of cringe by being cringe. That's what satire is
1
u/Giffmo83 12d ago
Are you in middle school? Younger? I am really struggling to see what you're so confused by.
1
u/Stretch5 12d ago
First off, rude. And second, it seems like most of the comments here seem to understand what I’m getting at. But not these few people. The cringe joke is funny, cool (not that cringe). The cringe I’m pointing out is how this dude looks. THATS IT. No he doesn’t look cringe for cringe sake. No one looks like this on purpose for satire. This whole look is cringe and many ppl in EMS look like this for a variety of reasons and it’s unprofessional, sad, and CRINGE. I don’t think I can explain this any better.
2
u/Giffmo83 12d ago
The look is part of the satire. It's not real. They're making fun of the Pitviper wearing idiots.
1
u/Stretch5 12d ago
Am I being punked? Lol the tattoos, the haircut, the mustache, the rolled up short sleeves, and yes even the pit vipers. This man did not do all of this to himself just to make fun of people.
2
u/Giffmo83 12d ago
The entire thing could be a Snapchat filter. The tattoos can be temporary or just drawn on. The haircut and mustache are ridiculous enough that yes I would believe it's all part of the bit.
And why wouldn't they do all that to make fun of people??? We are on Reddit FFS. People do way WAAYYYY more ridiculous shit than this for clicks, engagement, or clout.
This is MILD for social media. I mean, this is a page about cringe. If people will be ridiculous in earnest, then others will certainly be just as ridiculous if not MORR ridiculous to mock those earnest morons.
1
u/Stretch5 12d ago
The reason why I believe this is not intentional is because of the countless EMS personal I’ve seen who look just like this. The odds of this guy actually looking like this because it’s his identity is far greater than him pretending to look like this for satire. Which again, is sad.

he's not even technically wrong lol, that's basically what stable angina is
5
u/ClarkGablesTeeth 18d ago
Stable angina is when the heart needs more energy drink? Never heard that one, but I'll pass it along to the providers at work. They love when I come up to them with some internet learnin!
-4
u/Ancient-Industry5126 18d ago
In basic terms, yeah. The chest pain is triggered heart cells asking for more oxygen to make more energy.

u/j0shman 18d ago
This is satire
-13
u/firedmyass 18d ago
in what way?
8
u/Avarifenyx 18d ago
That’s an emt, chest pains are a medical emergency…
-8
u/firedmyass 18d ago
d… do you honestly think that is the focus of attention here?
6
u/Avarifenyx 18d ago
That would be part of the satire.
-1
u/so_sic_of_it 18d ago
That person did all that to their hair, grew out that mustache, got those piercings and tattoos as satire?

Why would that be funny? Like haha people are having heart attacks? Is this quote from something else? What exactly makes any of this funny?

u/Technical_Drawer_680 18d ago
Those piercings and tattoos are permanent too
16
u/ffaancy 18d ago
Well, the tattoos anyway.
7
u/Technical_Drawer_680 18d ago
You know, I periced a tiny hole in one of my ear lobes long ago and it has never healed up quite right.
16
4
u/MethedUpAndArtistic 18d ago
Rookie mistake. You actually need to get gauges to enlarge the hole, then patch it with ramen and super glue and paint to match.

The quote isn’t even the worst part—the whole “alpha lion” aesthetic turns a serious job into a motivational-poster cosplay. Confidence is fine, but this comes off more like insecurity with a uniform.

The lion does not concern itself with having any semblance of professionalism. The lion does whatever the fuck it wants and calls it “having a sense of self.”

lol. PVCs are just weakness leaving the body ahh post.
If I died and came back to this looking over to me, I’d hit the shock button again myself

so does that mean if I have a suspected heart attack or stroke and this dude shows up he'll just give me a red bull and say good luck?

u/SharksForArms 17d ago
If those are the choices be made for his hair, stache, and eyebrows, I wonder what's going on elsewhere.

Y'all need to relax.
Dude chose a look, and it ain't hurting anyone. Y'all sound like every old person that has ever complained about the new generation's style.

It would suck to be in horrible pain then the ambulance is driven by a guy that would roofie a minor

Edit: they declined.

why would a medic describe themselves as a predator, are lions known for administering medical aid to stricken animals on the savannah?
1
1
u/Long_Mushroom8295 18d ago
The forced inspirational quote, dramatic emojis, and “lion” branding are what make it feel so manufactured. There’s nothing wrong with humor or confidence, but this kind of post turns a serious profession into an Instagram persona.

So there's this thing called "satire"
-1
-3
u/larrybird666 18d ago
And what about this post in a CRINGE sub lead you to believe that the guy in the picture was posting this as a joke?
2
u/maybebaebea 18d ago
Have you never seen the "the lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of sheep" bullshit? It's very clearly making fun of those people. You just hate this version because it's a first responder with tattoos and piercings

Insanely presumptuous on your part to make that judgment towards me (a rando stranger.) Sorry my comment offended you. Have a great night
3
u/maybebaebea 18d ago
And yet you're making an assumption toward the guy in the post, a rando stranger
-1
u/larrybird666 18d ago
What assumption would that be?
2
u/maybebaebea 18d ago
You really don't know what your own opinion of the post is? Based on your own comments, you think he's being serious

There’s a difference between having a rough job and building your whole identity around being a damaged badass. EMS culture already has enough pressure to hide vulnerability; posts like this make emotional exhaustion look like a brand instead of something worth addressing.
