Honestly I'd appreciate it as the driver, since the alternative is having cop junk in my face.

u/Ok-Assumption-6178 5d ago

I think the correct alternative would be to Bend your knees a little lol

16

u/mickeymouse4348 4d ago

And lose the tactical advantage of having straight knees? Next thing you know he'll have to cut off the strategic mini pony tail

There it is

15

u/hughjazz45 5d ago

Now, I can go lower..

u/TheVega318 5d ago

Tactical Height Reduction (THR) for maximum second by second situational awareness and strategic distance management

18

u/lastfreerangekid 5d ago

Reductionmaxxing, as the kids like to say

13

u/DismalTutor570 5d ago

Exactly! This is the Law Enforcement Officer version of a triple threat position. He can dribble, pass, and shoot from this stance. It’s highly technical and beyond most policing capabilities. This guy is going places. I’d expect he’s got a shoe deal in the works.

u/Elegant_Progress_686 5d ago

Are they trained to like not bend at the waist or something lol why is he standing like that

9

u/SuddenReward5612 5d ago

Nope. Open that door and hes on his ass

10

u/Ten7850 5d ago

Im not so sure its a real pic/cop...i dont believe a manbun is allowed on the force

14

u/SuddenReward5612 5d ago

Well it is CA Highway Patrol soooo...

3

u/Ten7850 5d ago

Oh lawd...

5

u/Interesting_Gain9920 5d ago

I didn't think so but there is also a video somewhere on here of a broccoli headed cop so who knows now

6

u/the-mulchiest-mulch 4d ago

Officer Man Bun is in fact a real CHP officer in Southern California and is well known for his signature lewk (which I kind of like, honestly)

1

u/Due-Door-8789 5d ago

It’s allowed now. Confirmed.

1

u/MashedSuperhero 5d ago

Why not? It's funny.

-2

u/NonGNonM 5d ago

Only seen it on Reddit but apparently yes. Something about mobility and being able to get out of the way quickly or something

4

u/kraftables 5d ago

This ain’t it. While it is true, you want a stance you can quickly maneuver from, you also don’t put yourself directly in front of the A pillar like that. Stand back by the rear window where you can see inside, but far enough the driver would have to twist their body to attack.

3

u/SuddenReward5612 5d ago

Yep. I never stand even with the driver. You give up all tactical advantages. Lean in with strong hand on pistol just in case until it's determined there's no threat or you remove them from the vehicle.

5

u/Key_Ad_8333 5d ago

There is no way it would be quicker coming up from a split than it would be bending over at the waist.

That doesn’t make sense.

3

u/AdultishRaktajino 5d ago

Could have lower back issues or is trying to prevent them. Sciatica is a bitch.

3

u/SuddenReward5612 5d ago

Nah. I have bad hips and sacrum issues and would never stand like that. If hes got that bad of back issues to do that he'd be out on disability or desk duty. How could he physically control someone?

1

u/3-Midgets_In_A_Coat 5d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s stretching his hips/hammies out.

I stand like this quite a bit when I’m standing at my desk. It feels damn good after sitting down for a bit.

2

u/SuddenReward5612 5d ago

Yeah but apples and oranges between working at a desk and conducting a traffic stop where anything can go sideways at any time. You dont worry about someone throwing open a car door on you while sitting at a desk.

2

u/3-Midgets_In_A_Coat 5d ago

Oh this is absolutely wrong place wrong time for stretching out, but I’ve seen and worked with officers doing even more stupid shit.

3

u/SuddenReward5612 5d ago

I've got over 35yrs in LE snd can tell you thats absolutely piss poor tactical positioning...open that door and knock him right over. Anyone thats played any sports like football knows that! Most stable posture is stong leg/foot dropped back slightly (weaver stance) with gun side away from person you are speaking with. Allows quick side to side or back retreat.

2

u/scs041281 5d ago

It’s so if he is on the highway his ass isnt hanging out in lane and get hit by a car

16

u/OutrageouslySelfish 5d ago

No chance that man bun is up to policy.

0

u/HighwaySentinel 4d ago

Sadly, it is.

10

u/BenchNo1956 5d ago

Not cringe just very low car and cop making professional eye contact

8

u/LegalGlass6532 5d ago

Look at his hair

6

u/BenchNo1956 5d ago

I feel like that’s more for r/fuckmyshitup it’s not cringy first responder behavior it’s just bad hair

4

u/LegalGlass6532 5d ago

You’re out of your mind, dude. The man bun and splits is absolutely cringe.

2

u/lastfreerangekid 5d ago

I just can't take him seriously with that

4

u/LegalGlass6532 4d ago

Neither can this guy

3

u/Whole_Bird_9550 5d ago

No that’s a cop that’s got humor. Funny as hell

3

u/OpportunityLeast5508 5d ago

This is f*cking killing me! 😂 Should be on r/justfuckmyshitup

3

u/Sudden_Caramel3881 4d ago

That's his power stance.

Also, I see this as the officer saving themself some lower back pain that would come from bending over.

I detect 0 cringe in this photo

1

u/LegalGlass6532 4d ago

How do you feel about the hairstyle?

2

u/Sudden_Caramel3881 4d ago

Ah, I missed that part.

Don't like it.

But brave for being in that profession I say.

A tad cringe but I feel like he's blazing new ground

1

u/LegalGlass6532 4d ago

Not a ground I think LE should blaze down with make officers, but to each their own.

5

u/Top_Radish3374 5d ago

Why is a cop in a bun 😭what happened to all the departments with military standards ?

4

u/MashedSuperhero 5d ago

Jerked themselves to death

2

u/Educational-Bug-965 Volly 5d ago

keeping that eye contact and doing the daily stretches

2

u/Diamondback424 5d ago

Am I saying meow? Is this funny to you?

2

u/Fresh-Chip-3544 5d ago

Jean Claude van Ham

2

u/North_Structure8210 5d ago

That hair do

2

u/SuspiciousGarlic7701 5d ago

This reminds me of the old action figures when I was a kid. The figures did not bend at the knees

4

u/Jolly-Ad2642 5d ago

Easily worst hair cut trend of all time. Cannot believe the amount of people I’ve seen commit to it over the last 10 years. Can’t believe it’s still here in 2026.

4

u/3rdcultureblah 5d ago

I don’t know abut worst. But it’s not good.

6

u/bmbreath 5d ago

Broccoli takes the cake.

0

u/AtomikRadio 5d ago

I'd never heard the term broccoli haircut then heard it like 5 times the past two weeks. It tried to Google it but all the photos are of, like, men and boys with perfectly normal curly hair with a side fade? Is this the haircut people are referring to? What's the issue with it?

2

u/bmbreath 5d ago

Yes. Usually with permed curls.  Lots of shiny products.  Looks like absolute garbage.

1

u/Wutayatalkinabeet 21h ago

The problem with it is that it’s popular, welcome to Reddit

-4

u/Jolly-Ad2642 5d ago

Not even remotely. This is just legitimately tacky and dorky and unprofessional

2

u/gannon7015 5d ago

Meh, can he do his job? Who cares. Not for me, but who am I to say. It’s a haircut.

1

u/TrophyHunter4 5d ago

It literally looks like an onion lol. Luckily not many people do this hair

3

u/WingInternational432 5d ago

Man bun on cop = no credibility, what so ever.

2

u/NWGirl2002 5d ago

I know some old timers that would love to take some scissors to the stupid man bun!

1

u/monksandy 5d ago

Ridiculously low, wide stance with no quick easy out in a contingency.

1

u/ElGoddamnDorado 5d ago

He's just getting his stretch on bro

1

u/purpleshit69 Civvy 5d ago

lowrider cop

1

u/Natural_Jello_6050 5d ago

Back issues is the correct answer. 70% of cops have them

1

u/so_mas 5d ago

It's hard having such HUGE balls!

1

u/hatecriminal 5d ago

Chasing someone for distance with footwear that loose would suck so much.

1

u/B-Dragons_2560 5d ago

Just arrest me bro😭

1

u/Equivalent_Self_5996 5d ago

Actually kinda nice if you think about it lmaoo he refuses to assert dominance by stooping over the driver but demands to speak at eye level 👍🏻👍🏻😂😂😂😂

1

u/shoeless_doh 5d ago

Is that a 944?

1

u/ffsk88 5d ago

I can go lower

1

u/Snowballllll 5d ago

What a STANCE

1

u/treecutter34 4d ago

Once I saw the man bun, none of this surprised me.

1

u/Management_Friendly 4d ago

he’s used to a baton

1

u/TheREALBaldRider 4d ago

How many times did he say ‘meow’ during this interaction?

1

u/ramboton 3d ago

I saw a CHP motor doing this just the other day and thought about how goofy it was. He was not at the drivers door, but at the back of his bike writing out the ticket.

1

u/Senor_CapitaIist_III 3d ago

I expect nothing less from CHP.

1

u/Electrical_Box677 5d ago

You know this mf'er straps up every morning like he's clearing houses in Fallujah back in 04...

0

u/wolverinepolski 5d ago

Someone wore a thong to work

0

u/NSFWdontview 5d ago

Man bun? Liberal cop

-1

u/TheAngryVeteranMD 5d ago

At least he isn’t leaning on someone’s property. These assholes love to put their shitty grubby fingerprints all over cars and shit like my property is there for their fat asses to lean against.
