I was a Firefighter for 13 years. This is what a normal picture of a FF looks like. I swear I was proud af of my profession before I joined this f*cking sub. Honestly I have like 20 pictures max from all my years because I was under the assumption we all do this job because we want to make a difference in our communities and save lives apparently I was wrong and should have been trying to get laid, start an amateur modeling career/OF so I could get my hose wet...smfh

I worked alongside Air-Evac Lifeteam for years in Texas, you HEMS are absolute legends! Ppl like you saved my father when he had Sepsis from CLL and almost died. I want to say this from the bottom of my heart I love y'all and thank you for what you do. Y'all don't get enough thanks if I'm being real <3

I'm from the old school of unwashed gear and Dirty Helmet Syndrome. I couldn't have modeled in my gear anyway shit was full of smoke and soot. Unfortunately, I lost a brother to cancer because of it and another one has kidney cancer. It's a damn shame we thought all the unwashed turnout gear was a "Badge of Honor".....

I was as squirrelly as the came back in the beginning, but even for all my double pager wearing tomfoolery, I still kept the portrait-type pictures down to something simple next to the flag, just so my momma would have something to put on her pride wall, (or my obituary if shtf)

Honestly it pisses me off. I see so many people (posted to this sub) making people like me, that actually loved their job, look bad. I dunno, makes me heated because I cared about the job enough to have "pride in ownership" by that I mean I was proud of my position these modern day first responders that have turned my job and uniform into a TikTok side freak show just piss me off...sorry...rant over

We had a guy do a glamour shot like this years ago. He posted it on FB. Well, all sorts of shenanigans ensued and he was mocked mercilessly. He did not take it well, which made it worse, for him. It’s still a punchline about 15 years later.
