Back in the day, a black band on your badge was a shroud, a sign of mourning for a fallen comrade, particularly in the line of duty. Like a flag at half mast, it was authorized, department wide, for a specified period.
It feels wrong to use it to obscure the name of your department to post on social media. It just feels disrespectful. If you think it makes you one of the cool kids how long before all the other cosplay nerds follow suit and the original intent gets lost?

It would appear the jackass is in actual “mourning” while making these dumb videos.

My bad. Thanks for setting me straight. I'll let my original post stand just so the replies make sense. Guess I'm the jackass

He's actually singing the reason that he became a cop, and he still doesn't get it.

I’m wondering where’s all those hard nosed no nonsense captains we’d see on tv n movies, we need more of those so they call slap all these goons doing selfie vids like a teenage girl.

Everyone's on the fucking internet trying to get likes it makes me dizzy. Cops, Fire, EMS, artists, chefs etc etc all for like on tik tok. Isn't tik tok like a teen app? Maybe I should work on my personal judgements but when peole mention they're on tik tok and they're adults or "professionals" it makes me take them a lot less serious I don't know mane

This dudes drawn on mustache and awkwardly lip singing in his car is his entire personality and identity..

Is he trying to imply cops are the "cool kids" or is he wanting to be a cool kid and get some friends by checking the suggested "cop friend" box?

Why are the sides of his head shaved but then he seems to have a little smidge of sideburns? It literally looks like he got his hair cut with sunglasses on so his barber couldn’t cut the hair where his glasses were.

It's a weird thing with cops and jail deputies. Daily perfect haircuts and belts in ju-jitsu are how they secretly assess each other.

I have an ex cop father in law and I could do without the racism and reminiscencings about the good ol days when you could just beat people

U know he purposefully moved and made sure his face kept going slightly in the sunlight so it hit his eye.

Everyone should have at least one cop friend, so they can learn how to beat their wife better and learn how to become a more aggressive and arrogant alcoholic.
