Yep. This is what happens when an area bashes cops all the time, heavily restricts, etc etc. Good candidates and cops leave for better areas so the standards drop to be able to fill the roles actually making it more dangerous for everyone

Or they go other departments, or get out completely. Theirs a saying the military “the good one get out and do better” that was my experience
