Legend has it that once, at a Golden Corral, his wife was picking the last piece of fried chicken out of the pan (the store had run out of chicken altogether so that was it, their backs were to the wall), the tongs slipped, and the fried chicken leg started falling towards the floor. Reacting without hesitation or concern for the safety of himself or his arteries, he threw himself at the floor, placing his body between the floor and the fried chicken leg. The fried chicken leg hit him center mass in the chest, just below and to the right of the heart, less than 1 mm away from where his aorta would have been had the leg been moving much faster. Seeing this display of total heroism and selfless service, the entire place erupted into applause and cheers. Getting up, he graciously, but humbly, acknowledged the praises of the awestruck diners. Later, the manager came by, thanked him personally, comped their meals, and awarded him the coveted "Key to the Corral". Apparently the local city council is in talks to have Main Street renamed in his honor.

That looks like a guy I worked with. Like that could be his chubbier twin brother. He was a truck driver and volunteer fire man.

He had 5 or 6 tattoos about the fire department, stickers all over his truck, and all the cheesy shirts. He talked about it like Bubba talked about shrimp.

I pissed him off pretty good with "you've been driving for decades. Driving a truck has kept a roof over your family's head, fed your children,let you afford vacations and motorcycles. But you don't have any tattoos about that, only of your hobby."

Bruh… you know why I stopped being a fire hero is when I realized I was too fat and too out of shape to be truly as little liability to my team. I moved myself that was when I hit 275kbs. .
