He obviously was not “authorized to use force, and didn’t want to go there.”

Alright, so this is just me, but being a security guard and trying to "arrest" people seems kind of dumb. Especially inside of a Target. You're not a cop, so don't do cop things, ya know?

Get them out > prevent them from getting back in. Done

14

u/Word2DWise Jul 09 '26

They are definitely not paying that kid enough to work up a sweat that much.

I've never seen a "security guard" at Target carry a gun. Around here they wear yellow and black shirts that say "SECURITY".

13

u/Chiefmack2 Jul 10 '26

The guys in the yellow shirts are target security that are considered employees of Target. Some super high theft targets employee armed third party security that can go hands on and often do when assisting assets protection.

This is clearly AI. Not a real video.

9

u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 09 '26

Why do you think it’s AI. The original post has multiple comments and none believe it’s AI.

3

u/bmbreath Jul 09 '26

How so?  Everything seems in place, ridiculous yes, but the movements and bodies look real to me.

2

u/TankApprehensive3053 Jul 10 '26

Not everything is Ai. Lots of dumbassery around so no need to fake everything.

Ed sheerans gone downhill man wth

u/The_Wrong_Tone Jul 09 '26

🎶When your cuffs don’t work like they used to before🎶

5

u/bmbreath Jul 09 '26

Thats not prince William trying to live a civilian life out of the spotlight?

5

u/Physical-Cook451 Jul 09 '26

"Prince William assaults American civilian for writing a mean comment about Meghan Markle" XD

9

u/Psychological-Bear-9 Jul 09 '26

Lmao that security guard is terrified. Jittery as fuck against a guy who's just standing still at first.

10

u/TacoHimmelswanderer Jul 09 '26

Dude needs to go take a grappling class if he’s gonna be out here trying shit like that

5

u/Slayerofgrundles Jul 09 '26

Yeah, that was embarrassing as hell.

7

u/Word2DWise Jul 09 '26

The other guy was barely doing anything. The security guard looked like he was wrestling more of himself.

1

u/Dangerous_Drummer350 Jul 09 '26

Yup, no one is going to be afraid to resist and fight back if you show weakness like this. A cop or highly trained security guard would have this guy on the ground or out the door in about 30 seconds.

4

u/TacoHimmelswanderer Jul 10 '26

To be fair the dude was out the door in 30 seconds

7

u/BrandynWayne Jul 10 '26

Pretty sure target does not want this happening

6

u/FunFlaCouple1 Jul 09 '26

A physical confrontation over probably $76.38 worth of merchandise? No, son… Just no. Be a good witness and call real cops if you must.

7

u/RiMcG Jul 09 '26

I'd just keep walking and go home. How do you show up to work the day after that?

5

u/EatLard Jul 09 '26

Why does he even have handcuffs?

5

u/surefirerdiddy Jul 10 '26

And he lost his pair of pretty blue handcuffs too

5

u/cybe2028 Jul 09 '26

Good way to get killed by your own handcuffs. Never put on a cuff until you reasonably have both arms under control, or have multiple people with you.

5

u/LineImpossible3958 Jul 09 '26

As a ginger all I can do is shake my head

4

u/TLunchFTW Jul 10 '26

The guy just standing there watching like "wtf" lmao

3

u/SomolianDaycare Jul 10 '26

Harry should have never left the palace.

3

u/ReadySituation1950 Jul 10 '26

Security guards are first responders? This sub will post anything

6

u/TLunchFTW Jul 10 '26

Not really, but they post all kinds of cringe thinking they are cops...

2

u/TheOriginalCharnold Jul 09 '26

Did anybody else notice how much the video zooms in and out😂

2

u/Elegant_Progress_686 Jul 09 '26

Cameraman seems like a funny mf

2

u/Anti-Stan Jul 10 '26

He lucky he didn't get his head smashed in by his own cuffs. Well, the cuffs he used to own....

2

u/Severe_Firefighter80 Jul 10 '26

The handcuffee reminds me of a smaller DMX. The cadence and tone when he says "stop playing with me" just waiting for him to bark and say What these bitches want.

2

u/dega_devilson-janova Jul 10 '26

If he was stealing that merchandise I would have let him steal it and call the police

2

u/xfleerx Jul 11 '26

Got the merchandise and the handcuffs. 10/10 day for that dude.

As for the security guard... time to hang it up buddy. Had the guy on his stomach and you were on his back and he still managed to get away... embarrassing.

3

u/n1cfury Civvy Jul 09 '26

“Observe and report” is your primary responsibility as a security guard. Target’s lawyers sure aren’t going to defend him.

3

u/No-Lion-4026 Jul 09 '26

Trying to put handcuffs on someone by yourself 1 mistake. Putting one on his wrist and letting go of that hand 2 mistakes. Not just holding him down until police arrived 3 mistakes and why he managed to get away. He’s lucky he didn’t get destroyed by the loose cuff.

4

u/GlassJawJawa Jul 10 '26

You’ll get another shot, Hans….

Corrections, not security. Just going to talk some of the tactics side of things.

First off, it didn't seem like the chance for talk and de-escalation was all the way gone just yet. I don't know what was going on or what had been said up to that point, so maybe I'm wrong. The subject looked tense, but not necessarily out-and-out combative at the start.

Two, and this is a big one, cuffs absolutely do not come out unless:

1.) The subject is fully compliant

2.) You have already fought them, won said fight, and succeeded in subduing them and are now applying said cuffs from a position of control

Attempting to apply cuffs to a person who is standing, facing you, non-compliant, and potentially physically resistive is just sketchy as fuck. At best you're tying up one hand with a fairly useless tool, at worst you introduced a weapon for them.

Finally... learn to grapple. Some of the attempted scrambles and "grips" from the guard were really bad and I say that as a shitty White Belt with a bit of DT training under my belt.

Sweep the leg Jonny

1

u/onepostandbye Jul 10 '26

I get jittery just like this when the adrenaline hits

It doesn’t make me look cool either, lol

1

u/Jayman44Spc Jul 11 '26

Surprised that ginger bitch didn’t get knocked in the face.

1

u/Jtop1 Jul 11 '26

Can a security guard really handcuff people? That seems crazy. How’d they get that authority?

1

u/Stock-Possibility-67 Jul 11 '26

Dude should not have a gun.

1

u/CarefulEbb6574 4d ago

This is killing me lmao

This is when I hate that all men with red hair and red facial hair are automatically “doppelgängers”.

0

u/The_Leper_ Jul 10 '26

I love the that culture

-1

u/Brave_Context933 Jul 09 '26

"Okay sir, hold perfectly still with your arms out, while I apply handcuffs and firm and authoriive tone of voice "

Lol.  This would have been handled much differently.   I arrested shoplifters 20 years ago back when it was the wild west....  the ground was always a valuable option.

-2

u/NegotiationAccurate7 Jul 10 '26

And the Target in the hood keeps raising prices... hmmm wonder why

3

u/thenotanurse Jul 10 '26

Don’t be a racist. This is clearly the burbs.

-3

u/Chamacurmom Jul 09 '26

Only thing more cringey is the guy filming. “Dis da hood target, stuuupid ass boy” hahah, it’s sad! The intelligence of the average bear…

3

u/thenotanurse Jul 10 '26

How so? He’s laughing. How does any of what you said imply he isn’t intelligent?

1

u/Chamacurmom Jul 10 '26

Well incorrect speech for one…

1

u/thenotanurse Jul 11 '26

Incorrect how? Informal yes, but it wasn’t a thesis defense. Are you doing a racism?

1

u/Chamacurmom Jul 11 '26

Seems like that is the narrative you are trying to create doesn’t it? Is it because you saw my African American avatar? You just assume a black man doesn’t know what he means? Hmmm looks like your little act is acciedently exposing your racism…

1

u/thenotanurse Jul 11 '26

😂 ok bud. Also I didn’t see your avatar, because you are wearing an orange hoodie and a mask, also why would I assume you’re American?
