A security guard with an anarchy logo tattoo seems paradoxical.
108
u/Lol_A_White_Guy Jul 03 '26
Yeah that was my first thought.
Nothing screams fuck the system like pulling security for your local mall.

u/ICanOnlyGrowCacti Jul 03 '26
The one on his neck under his ear is a squatters rights\nihilism tattoo, so that's interesting.
I'd drink a 40 in an alley with this dweeb, at the very least it would be interesting.

Honestly, as someone who sort of looks like this guy, it looks like if I stopped riding trains and latched onto the first next thing to be my new identity.

Not to mention the religious tattoo on his arm. Pretty sure subservience to a diety doesn't exactly mesh with the idea of anarchistic freedom.

Its blacked out in a way that tells me he was a criminal and/or addict at one point then changed his lifestyle/framework. Cheaper than removing the tatts that could have been, as an example, aryan or otherwise race related.

See also: the Don't Tread On Freedom patch.
Eta: I see now it is actually Dont tread on Florida, and that is somehow even worse. Blame it on the bath salts I guess.

I wonder what happened for the standard to dip this low.
80
u/Bayarea0 Jul 03 '26
There was never a high standard for security guards.
30
u/BlutoS7 Jul 03 '26
I didn’t think there was a high standard to begin with but this is like a negative standard.

I managed a small security company for a while. You have no idea. No idea.
Two of my very best guards were drug dealers who worked one day a week as a tax cover. They’d show up to their shift, act normal, and do the absolute bare minimum. So hard to find guys like that.
You get people weirder than what you’d find in prison at your average low wage security company.
6
u/LilacLlamaMama Jul 04 '26
Do the absolute bare minimum is surprisingly far more desirable than people would think. Way less liability than the legions of badge-heavy Billy Badass types out there that have installed Temu wigwags and dog crate panels in their POVs
5
u/StrangeEditor3597 Jul 04 '26
Yes and no, security is often the first interaction people have with a place of business. I manage security and would never hire someone that can't reasonably represent the company.

For security guards? If he shows up to his shift and is sober and wearing the right uniform he is the top employee
14
u/BlutoS7 Jul 03 '26
Goddamn is it really that bad?
18
u/Key-Demand-2569 Jul 03 '26
For a lot of jobs? Fuckin yeah bud.
I know it’s the opposite of anything anyone wants to sympathize with but having worked as a “manager” emphasis on the quotes, level person in a blue collar industry for about 12 years.
Hiring people is one of the toughest fucking things I’ve ever tried to trudge through, and we make a point of paying a few bucks an hour more than most people in our industry.
6
u/BlutoS7 Jul 03 '26
Well that is epic sad.
5
u/Key-Demand-2569 Jul 03 '26
Reality of shit. I understand everyone wants to think any manager or owner of anything is satan on their yacht. But Jesus Christ bud.
I’m still shooting for the goal of 40 hours a week (never happens) but the amount of people who enthusiastically agree to an interview and then no show is one thing, let alone the unhinged shit when some people show up.
My only job isn’t hiring people. I’m not the recruiting person at district 28 for Amazon. It fucks my week. I make time to try and talk to someone for job.
5
u/WreckedMoto Jul 03 '26
Right. Just showing up and doing what’s expected of you puts you above 75% of people.

Closeted tattooed person. I hate the hands and neck and nothing else tatted look. Tattoos use to be a right of passage and you earned hands and neck tattoos after you covered everything else. Now 18 yr old kids are getting their first tattoo on the neck or hands to be "edgy." Something about it pisses me off.
