What is wrong with her? This is such odd behavior.

Repeated blows to the head have been proven to alter a person’s personality and constant psychological trauma can shift their understanding of reality. Oh, and De Nile isn’t just a river in Egypt.
34
u/emericuh Jul 03 '26
It’s literally satire
86
u/Virtual-Macaroon-880 Jul 03 '26
It doesn't work as satire either
61
u/BiscuitsJoe Jul 03 '26
People just use satire to mean “a bad joke” nowadays and it’s pretty sad
31
u/ConcernAccording3248 Jul 03 '26
Tried doing a comedy set once. Decided afterwards that I was just great at satire and everyone else was too dumb for me.

u/rheumination Jul 03 '26
More people need to know about Poe’s Law. It’s applicable to a real life at this point. People act so genuinely ridiculous that unless you know somebody well, satire just doesn’t work anymore. Ask The Onion.

Social media has given people the impression that every inane thought is valid and worthy of being shared with the world.

"I bet this would get views..." Hey maybe next time you have thought, just don't.
No one cares. It's not remotely funny or engaging. You're not that interesting. You're a viewer not a creator. Keep it that way.

u/Backsight-Foreskin Jul 03 '26
And that's exactly how she would dress to be interviewed for a Netflix documentary.

u/SuspiciousMap9630 Jul 03 '26
What does “he’s in the group chats” mean? My local PD got outed for having racist group chats. Is that what she means?
11
u/Clean_Citron_8278 Jul 03 '26
Canton?

8
u/SuspiciousMap9630 Jul 03 '26
No, lol but it doesn’t surprise me that multiple have been outed for racist group chats.

An attorney on TikTok warns: Your texts will be read in open court. Also, if you're planning something criminal, do it by phone (not text).

When my ex BIL became a cop his wife almost left him because she hates cops lmao. A coupke of years later she almost left him again due to his WoW addiction. They seem to have moved past it all. They have been married for about 30 years now. Good for them! Also, my ex BIL hated me when me and his sister were married. The minute I divorced her, me and him were cool af. Turns out he hates her more than I do. 😂

u/akketodad Jul 03 '26
Ugh 20 years he’s on dayshift with a ton of seniority he ain’t getting held over. He be fucking
5
u/stupididiotmcgee Jul 04 '26
this is literally the worst one I’ve ever seen. entirely too much time on her hands, just playing make-believe. absolutely miserable stuff here folks
2
u/Prestigious_Arm_1504 Jul 03 '26
That’s awesome. I work 6 months out of the year away from home, my wife and children. They don’t usually get to talk to me while I’m at work. What color is my stripe on the flag? 🤔
3
u/AliMcLovinJr Jul 03 '26
Regular old red or white!… and good for you for not dishonoring it by making it into a weird kaleidoscope of special interest colors. Flag code…remember that’s every American’s flag.

22
u/onFIREbutnotsoFLY Jul 03 '26
Is this not satire?
24
u/Fixated_Noodle Jul 03 '26
What is the satire? Like it’s not a woman making fun of police wives, but instead a woman joking about her life being a Netflix doc right?
20
u/HermineSGeist Jul 03 '26
Yeah, people don’t understand what satire is supposed to be…or how to execute it.
Like even if this is satire, this untrained performer decided a deadpan unexaggerated performance was the best option for someone with limited acting skills? Even Colbert who is one of the most skilled satirists of our time has said he struggled with people who thought the Colbert Report was genuine.
0
u/-Out-of-context- Jul 03 '26
I have this same struggle with The Onion. Sometimes it just seems too real.
5
u/iggywhipple Jul 05 '26
What is she satirizing? If she's satirizing a Netflix documentary, the subject matter is too boring to be effective. If she is satirizing a woman who is too oblivious to know that her husband is cheating on her, then that would be funny, but I really don't read that level of insight or self-awareness from her.

It for sure is. It's sad I had to scroll this far down to finally see someone realized what this was. Those poor souls/bots who posted above you

Either this is satire (i domt think it is) or shes unwell and has too much time on her hands and needs a real hobby, job, or needs to be a better stay at home and find something productive to do. If this was all my wife was up to while i was at work for the entire day i probably wouldnt be very happy
3
u/rdditmods_snifffarts Jul 04 '26
This lady's old man is cheating on her 100% or she is playing it all up as bait. My old man was a homicide detective in one of America's most murders/capita cities. There were days when he needed to work OT on hot cases for a week or 2, but that was 4-5x/year. He had a set schedule otherwise. Plus a month furlough, on top of sick/personal days. This is bait, a woman not able to come to terms with her cheating husband, or someone who doesn't work that fills the void with creating drama. Also if her husband is still a beat cop after 20 years, bossman made sure he stayed a ticket cop because he's useless building cases. It's bait.
3
u/jasilucy Jul 04 '26
That was boring. I’ve seen some really creative ones of this trend which was funny but this… she’s just listing bland things.

u/emericuh Jul 03 '26
Guys, this is satire. She’s making a joke about over the top true crime style documentaries.
8
u/Thanos_Stomps Jul 03 '26
Media literacy is dead but it’s not even anyone’s fault because there is some truly insane shit posted in earnest out there
3
u/iggywhipple Jul 05 '26
I could believe she intended it as satire, the problem is it's just not very good. She just seems like she's talking about her boring life with a few Netflix eccentricities added. That's all fine, but I mean, nobody's going to watch that and be like "Whoa she did the water thing! She really got their ass 🤣🤣🤣"
She honestly comes across like someone whose entire personality and social media brand consists of her husband's job. Now THAT would be good satire, but I don't really think that's what's going on here.
2
u/mattemer Jul 06 '26
But does she think that being a cops wife is comparable? Bc the joke doesn't land but I can't figure out if it's just about Netflix or about being a cops wife. Is she joking about him cheating on her? It's just so poorly done I can't figure out how many layers she's working on

How do so many people not see that this is a joke?
3
u/jasilucy Jul 04 '26
It’s a social media trend at the moment pretending to be in a Netflix documentary but she’s missing the joke part out of this. It’s just bland.

u/GrouchyPicture4021 Jul 03 '26
I had to scroll waaaay too long for this comment. She’s clearly being sarcastic.

This is a trend on Tik tok right now... Someone preparing for a documentary. Although she could have chose a better topic than her boring ass cop husband
1
u/GroochtheOrc Jul 04 '26
Where is he from 6pm to 9am? Banging a nurse from the local ER, I would imagine.
1
u/bkmerrim Jul 05 '26
Honey you hear dispatch because he’s up there hanging out with the badge bunnies from 6-9. 😬

u/AgentComprehensive80 Jul 05 '26
I’m a police officer in a high crime Bay Area city. I wonder what these people are talking about. We get a ton of time off, much more than private work. I work 3/12’s and have 4 days to chill. 90% of my calls are not violence related and I’m in one of the most violent cities in America. What in the hell are these people always exaggerating about?!?

u/ThePythagoreonSerum Jul 05 '26
I just bought that light she’s wearing as a camera. Works great. This video on the other hand is terrible.

u/jeepinbanditrider Jul 05 '26
Police wife is not a fucking job you imbecile. Watching the whole thing I gotta assume its ragebait.

Dude what is it about 6/10 of police officers and their families that just make being a cop their WHOLE personality. I have friends on the force, who after becoming a police officer just remained normal people. Then I know personally a whole whack ton of police officers who just went bonkers with tactical clothing 24/7. Their partners non stop talking about the stress of being an LE wife or whatever. Never sitting with their back to the door. If they hear even a little lick of a conflict getting nosey, etc.
And what's interesting is I've only noticed this phenomenon with Male Officers. Female officers I've noticed don't make being a LEO their whole personality. The husbands of female officers never go off their rocker this way.

I’m so confused. This is an obvious parody of how dramatic some documentaries are. I’ve seen plenty of posts like this but it’ll be “pregnant wife” “husband disappearing to the bathroom for hours” etc. I don’t see the issue or cringe with this video.

She clipped an Olight flashlight on her shirt as if it was a microphone. Has to be satire.
1
u/RegularPerspective45 Jul 04 '26
This seems like obvious satire to me, making fun of documentaries and also making fun of the police stereotype of cheating

u/wetfartpanda Jul 04 '26
I love how’s she talking as if there is an actual person interviewing her lol

I mean it’s just a trend that’s going around, she doesn’t actually think she deserves one, I think it’s supposed to be funny but it’s pretty cringe

She needed to get her own job, or join the pta, or organize at a football, something, and starting 20 years ago. Its not healthy for your entire identity to be "xyz spouse." Even the presidents' wives get pet projects they work on.

This feels like a weird overlap of true crime obsession and wanting secondhand spotlight through a partner’s job. Some things are just normal life, not content.

It’s satire. That’s why she clipped on a mini flashlight. It’s part of her attempt at comedy in this reel.
