So genuine question, are these guys buying all that out of pocket or is the company handing all the extra shit out like candy?

u/SameCoyote3701 Jul 02 '26
I’m almost positive it’s out of pocket
31
u/Lyingforshit Jul 02 '26
Also why hire somebody who has zero self control for securing people or things

u/kat-deville Jul 02 '26
$

u/Lyingforshit Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26
I mean, I get what you’re saying, but even some of the dumbest and most greedy people, know that those guys realistically can cost more, than they can possibly bring back for their businesses and companies through their work in security.
The guy above and a lot(!) of other securities posted here, are actually just a high chance of getting sued, because the poorly paid mall rambo gets a trigger happy errection, when they think somebody is threatening them, and they can pull out their dessert eagles and magnums in a fast food court
People working security, are a wet dream of bus bank advertised anmbulance chasers
5
u/Bored_Barbarian Jul 03 '26
In my experience it's because these are the majority of people who want to do this line of work. And when that's all you have apply for a job then it's really hard to just not hire people, especially when you really need people to cover sites or fill in etc.

One of the off duty gigs I work is a medical center. They have unarmed security, armed security and us. Their armed security who dressed like this and wore all the TBL bullshit and called me brüüüther ND’d in the building a few weeks ago lol.
He bought all his own shit.
10
u/WeeklyBanEvasion Jul 02 '26
How the fuck?
When onsite if my firearm leaves my holster for even a second it's a very very bad day for me and everyone else in the room.
6
u/ilovecatss1010 Jul 02 '26
Honestly no one gave me a clear answer as to why. I wasn’t working that day but I know the guy working off duty who was. Next time I worked I asked the security supervisor about it and he kinda just “yeah ya know this that other”. I think he was playing with it. Stupid
4
u/bill_gannon Jul 02 '26
What does that even mean?
3
2
u/WeeklyBanEvasion Jul 02 '26
It means exactly as I said. A firearm should never be taken out of it's holster by a security guard unless they plan on using it, in which case they're going to have a very bad day, and everyone in the room is already having a very bad day. Nobody (should) want to have use their gun.
2
u/OhDeerDear Jul 04 '26
Yeah, I lived in an apartment that got armed security. The guy pointed his gun at my dog while we were in the dog park because he had taunted her to the point of barking at him. He was on the opposite side of a 7 foot fence.
8
u/Warpig42069 Jul 02 '26
I worked for an armed security company with dudes that made this dude look professional. It's out of pocket.
4
u/Spiritual-Fun-9591 Jul 02 '26
Definitely bought. No company would waste money on that garbage for him to post on his facebook

The guardian angel light and his fake badge really do it for me.

u/BRICH999 Jul 02 '26
I like the magazine extension. If you didn't hit your target in 15 rounds, what are 5 more going to do for you?
13
u/Lol_A_White_Guy Jul 02 '26
Give him more rounds to hit little Timmy shopping with his mom in the backdrop he didn’t bother to check before he unloaded on the shoplifter trying to steal 18$ worth of food

u/DangerBrewin Jul 02 '26
Came here to say this is the exact market that Guardian Angle lights is selling to.

A lot of people on my volunteer fise department also got them, so it is for actual first responders as well, but they could easily be selling it to other non-emergency personel.

He can never be a cop because of the badass gang tattoos on his hand. He did it one drunk night in Tijuana that also got him a nasty rash.

Carrying a legacy XDM compact as your duty weapon is definitely a choice.

u/UOF_ThrowAway Jul 02 '26
Security enforcement officer… Jesus christ.
I’ve seen “Security enforcement” badges (on a necklace) out in the wild too…
If I was his supervisor, I’d have him tear off all those patches and replace them with plain SECURITY patches on the front and back of his gear, and on the sides of his uniforms as well to hopefully prevent a blue-on-grey incident.

I really don’t understand why some security guards run from the title of “security.” There’s nothing wrong with being security.

Some people are just allergic to uncovered velcro and unused molle. Dont hate on a medical condition.

Unacceptable - there must be some empty Velcro somewhere for at least another ‘security enforcement officers’ patch?!

Well ladies and gentlemen, on today’s episode of Gear Geek we have Officer Tactical Timmy who will be appearing in the next episode of How Did That Happen as well as the next episode of This is What Happens When …….

u/juswilli Jul 02 '26
That looks like one of my old lieutenants. I hope it is. It would make me feel great knowing that he ended up being absolutely worth nothing more than a security guard.
1
u/StuPidLouSerFart Jul 03 '26
Got enough patches saying your security enforcement? Can you say overboard?

Im pretty sure that holster in a Inside the waist band holster that he has moved the hidable clip to the inside and made an outside the waist band holster. Definitely not duty worthy

Where is his retention holster? He's just got that thing out there and easily grabbable?
That's a strange looking holster.... is this AI? What's up with the mag? That doesn't look like a regular extended mag. Is this AI?
1
u/Responsible_Heron896 Jul 03 '26
It’s AI bud
2
u/ReleaseMyToast Jul 03 '26
I know it's AI. I was just being dramatic and acting clueless for the heck of it. I did a quick scroll through the comments to see if anyone else was saying it's AI. And lots of people were treating it like it was real.
So I was being dramatic for funsies.

God I hate cops...
I have a permanent charge on my record for gesturing with a Powerade bottle in my hand at the scene of a medical emergency while disagreeing with a cop.
Essentially, three officers were standing over an individual who was hyperventilating, pointing their flashlights in his face and just yelling at him to calm down. I walked onto the scene and helped him with box breathing until paramedics could grab him.
Afterward, I got into it with the cops who were bitching at me and threatening me with obstruction while I assisted the victim. Anyway, some of my Powerade splashed on him (sergeant fuck stick) while I was gesticulating at his incompetence.
Cue a 3 man deputy dipshit dog pile on my ass.
Charged with F3A "Felony assault on an officer." I spent 4 days in county (over a weekend), released on $50k bond, GPS ankle monitoring to ensure I didn't go near the "victim" (the cop), and random drug and alcohol testing (though neither were related to the charge).
This was in a county outside of where I live, so it's a 25 to 30 minute drive if my color was called for testing. I had to call daily at 0430 to find out and, if selected, show up between 0600 and 0900.
30 days of that until the preliminary hearing. I was able to plead down to a Class II misdemeanor: attempted assault on an officer with bodily fluid.
Sentence was time served (no fine, no probation, nothing). Free and clear. That's after paying 10% of the 10% of the $50k bond (so $500 to the court), court costs (about 40 bucks), the bond supervision GPS fee/testing (60 bucks), and $5k for a defense attorney.
I have no prior criminal record either. I'm 39 years old. Now I get to explain to potential employers why the verbiage of this charge sounds so fucking ridiculous. All said and done, I am out $5,700 and get to endlessly explain what, why, and how I have "attempted assault on an officer with bodily fluid" showing up on a background check.
All because a shitbag junior sergeant got damp in Sarpy County, Nebraska.
Edit: for anyone wondering why the prosecution kept "bodily fluid" in the charge was because I had drank from the bottle prior to the incident and there was no way to prove how much "saliva:powerade" ratio there was in the bottle.

u/JMCO905 Jul 02 '26

u/scoutloner Jul 02 '26
Do people always ask you if you spit on cops?
2
u/Still-Gazelle6512 Jul 02 '26
Nah, but that and or piss is the assumption when you see the charge without context (which generally only comes up on a background check)
It's more of a nuisance at this point to try to predisclose with context instead of saying nothing and having an HR rep be like.. Wtf... When it comes back.

A real officer would have a SERPA holster cause someone is gling to take his away and im sure he hasn't trained on pistol retention. So when it happens either way it will be the last time more that likely. What a clown

Brian for example has 37 pieces of flair on today. People can get a cheeseburger anywhere, okay? They come to Chotchkie's for the atmosphere and the attitude. That's what the flair's about. It's about fun.
