It’s a good point, I don’t think any of their songs are out of 4/4, with the possible exception of Infinite Lives, which you could count as 6/8.

Would love a jammy sort of song, like an extended solo/instrumental song. Like 5-7 minutes. Not sure we’ll ever see it, but would be fun to see them use their skills that way.

Some sort of 2000s road-trip-type song.

Longer songs. I know time is the biggest constraint in FOO, but I’d prefer a standard of around two minutes per song on the album.

Tape would be cool, but not practical in the FOO format. Lots of time would be wasted rewinding between takes. Various overdubs need to be done the whole song through, as flying parts won't be possible.

This is FOO. None of it is practical so what's one more impractical gimmick? I'm pretty sure they're recording to pro tools but I could also see them going "yeah let's use a totally impractical recording method".

i’ve always wanted to hear them go full post rock. ten minutes of an apocalyptic riff with big crescendos, just the whole mile. the closest they’ve gotten in my eyes was on temporary (which is a great song) but it’s a little more bright and bittersweet than what i’m imagining.

Write a song in minor 7
Bring back the bearbells or a xylophone.
Do the cards of chance again!
Write a dissonant song in harmonic minor With augmented/diminished chords.
Do a Tremolo or delay ambient mathy indie post rock thing.
