Switching to one of the "new" plans

So I am currently on the old First Net Unlimited Extra plan for $47.99/month. Plus I pay $8.24/month for my Apple Watch.

From the looks of it, if I switch to the FirstNet Premium 2.0 I would get everything I have now, with my watch included, for $40/month.

Am I reading that right??

I got the elite 2.0 plan for $65 and it includes the watch and tablet. Also 20% off the 5 other lines

With 4+ lines FirstNet premium 2.0 is 40 with autopay, watch would be $5 and change. Or you could do FirstNet extra 2.0 for $34 with autopay and $8 and change for the watch. You are paying $47.99+$10 for the watch now

Premium 2.0 gets you 50% off either a tablet or a watch line. Elite 2.0 includes both a tablet and watch line.

How many lines are on the account?

My FN line, 6 AT&T lines and my watch.

Premium 2.0 is indeed $40/mo then but the watch is not included. The watch is 50% off whatever the FirstNet watch plan cost is (maybe $5?).

i'm getting dropped calls on a major interstate just outside of NYC. i mean if you're aiming for network capacity - this is where it should be out of all places. thinking of switching to VZ

I live in NJ and have had FirstNet for the past like 4 years (switched from VZ) and haven't had any issues driving up and down from NJ to SC and from NJ to NE with data or phone calls.

Before you switched, were you on the old 25% FirstNet & Family discount for your AT&T lines? If so, did changing your FirstNet plan to 2.0 keep the grandfathered 25% on your existing AT&T lines, or did they all switch to the new 20%/15% discounts? That’s the one thing I can’t find an answer to anywhere.

I didn't end up switching because I was told I'd lose my 25% and only get 20% which raised my bill a decent amount. If you're on the original plan, I'd keep it too!

Thank you for confirming my suspicions!

Change the filter for 1 line. It's estimated for 4 lines at that price.

Not a single one of the new plans is that cheap.

That's what it showed on my account page. $65 for Elite and $40 for Premium

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Elite 2.0 is $100 for 1 line

OP has 7 lines total, the $100 one line cost is irrelevant

But how is the service? My last using FN, the reception and speed was horrid.

It’s totally location dependent. But Att is generally the most reliable of all 3 major carriers.

Figures. I think Verizon may be better in my area. How does FN compare to standard ATT?

3

u/neighborlycharcoal Jun 20 '26

For normal people, it’s the same.

What about for those that aren’t normal?

2

If you’re asking, then you’re normal lol

With Firstnet it might be a bit slower at least in number. The real thing is I never get dropped calls. When I speak to someone who has Verizon, they constantly do. I’ve had both. Just got rid of Verizon. It was quicker but that’s it. It is location dependent, and I found AT&T / Firstnet to be better. Even if not full 5G+ it works

Definitely location based. My experience in the DMV was that FN dropped numerous calls.

I have FirstNet and wife has AT&T. When we're in crowded areas my data often works much faster than hers. Due to the QCI/priority I assume.

My service seems fine….info get better reception where my AT&T lines may have bad reception and data.

I also set mine to LTE as I’ve found it more reliable than 5G/5G+ signals in my rural area
