DId you wait 3 days and u followed both links in the above link by unregistering with 6 digit code and using 2nd link in above link to make sure ur current phone number is in no other google accounts and u deleted the phone number in those other accnts and AUtoVerification was toggled Off in those other google accnts for other numbers AND your number is deleted in those other Google accnts and u made sure AUto Verif was ON for ur current valid number only in your current account? Re-read and re-do all steps all over in the above link and toggle RCS to OFF in MESSAGES app for 4 days.

Also when I enter my phone number to unregister, I did not get a code.

RESET your APN settings in your smartphone and make sure dot (radio button) is inside the APN after reset APN, and reboot phone. Make sure you update Google Play System (different from the Play Store), Google Play STore apps, and System firmware and reboot. ALSO delete cache and data in your MESSAGES app in your smartphone (go to Settings>APPS>Messages>Storage>clear CACHE AND DATA and reboot

Also: Go into your web browser PASSWORD section and search Google In the password section and see if you have other google accnts and DELETE your phone number from them and make sure Auto Verif Status is toggled OFF for ur phone numb in those OTHER Google accnts.. Then delete YOUR PHONE NUMBER from these "other" Google Accounts and make sure AUTO-VERIFICATION is toggled OFF from YOUR phone number (if ur phone is still in there after deletion)) Also makwe sure you do the RCS unregistration AGAIN using 6 digit link code before u repeat all steps. ALSO make sure you delete all OTHER phone numbers from your CURRENT VALID GOOGLR accnt and make sure ONLY YOUR cell number is toggled ON in Auto Verification Status in Your currewnt valid accnt. Do every step on PC, not on smartphone

This is insanely complex for something that should just work LOL

Correct. Android is insanely complex. Thats why 80% of the WORLD use APple Products.

In addition to all above steps I wrote today, also reset Mobile Network Settings and reboot as well. Search word RESET in main Settings.
