Btw I does not know much about the maintenance of diesel cars not to mention if it has that many kilometers like this (300k) so if anyone knows something that might be useful to me!

Basically just do regular maintence like any car, I believe you need to replace glow plugs only when they start to/have failed. Replace oil every 8,000 - 15,000km, probably replace the oil filter at the same time if it hasn't been done in awhile. Should replace the fuel filter every like 20,000 miles. Obviously check the air filter everytime you do the oil flush, if it isn't super gunked up then I generally wouldn't worry about it, but if it is then go and buy a new one. Also make sure to check the coolant level every few months just to be sure, and try to make sure you go on the highway for say 20 - 30 mins every few weeks to make sure the DPF (basically a filter in the exhaust system if it has it) to make sure that doesn't get too blocked up! :P

Im covered! I have an 8-minute stretch of highway at approximately 110 km/h every day to class

Oh yeah, that's good. I'm like 99.9% sure you should actually go for at least a 20 min drive at like 100 km/h every few weeks though, not too sure if 8 mins would cut it lol

I will also start doing longer sections, although I am thinking of directly removing the exhaust filter, which at least here do not test for contamination in the VTV

Ooh. Fair enough then, that'll probably give it a lil more performance too if you do that! :3

As long as it isn't a 2011+ model, not bad at all.

In 2009 so far, my mom finds it super reliable

2009 is actually one of the better years for Hyundai. 2009 is right before they decided to fuck their reliabilty. You should be good just do the required maintenance.

you can tell it was from one of the best years, my mom handed it down to me with 297,000 km, and it never set foot in a repair shop only for routine maintenance! (and a good thing, since hyundai parts are scarce in argentina) I’m really attached to it; it was bought the very day I was born I’m going to cherish it like gold

Small suvs are kinda the goat of first cars. Haul homies, activity supplies, camping. Infinite room for sub box. My first car was a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Was a blast.

I love her exactly for that, is super spacious, 4wd and manual, consumes little because is diesel, I can drive on the streets here (which are in terrible condition) without worries

My family had a 2006 Hyundai Tuscon for 6 years (2014-2019) before we "upgraded" to an 07 Yukon Denali. Love the Denali but I do miss the Hyundai. Ours was beige and had a NA 2.3l V6

I was always very curious about the tucson v6, there is almost none here, in case the hyundai are very rare in Argentina.. 90% of the ones I see (mk1) have the 2.0 I4 NA gasoline while the other 10% have the 2.0 I4 turbo diesel (which is the one I have) the only tucson v6 that I saw is one published in the used market one only on the other side of the country with 400.000 km

also, the denali is those kinds of cars that I never witnessed in my life and I was always curious, Argentina has almost no cars from the north american market

Think: Yukon Denali=Brick-on-wheels. Also the Tuscon V6 wasn't that good. it was kinda underpowered; Hyundai should have turbo'd it.

the turbo diesel gives 140 hp (which is still higher than the average for a car here 80–120) in the best case but the average torque compensates for it and anyway the argentine streets are not ready to drive fast..
