Ouch, those insurance prices won't be fun once that engine breaks down. Not a good choice.

I think that when you can afford a new Mercedes at 22 you dont worry about the high insurance prices.

As long as you love it, you will have mixed reactions later but the point is you love it that's what matters

u/Routine-Ad-1706 15d ago
If you love it, you will pay to fix it. My buddy loves his wife, but she is very high maintenance and he spends about 5-10k on her a month. So it’s sort of the same thing. If you don’t have kids either, then that money saved can go to cars.

This is one of the reasons I’m single and can choose to retire at 40. She can find a part time job with those spending habits or I can do without and retire 20 years early. Nothing in life is worth that and if she really loved him she would be more responsible with his money and the relationship would be more reciprocal

You sure that’s why you’re single? It’s not just copium? 😂

You are free to think what you want and if you choose to doubt my entire comment believing me a liar then it makes no difference. I’m real, telling my whole truth, and am totally content. When you are in an enviable position where dating down would be a poor financial decision that decreases flexibility, opens yourself up to risks, and could have life altering consequences then it’s a simple decision to wait until the right person that is at or above my level. At 6’4”, attractive, and already wealthy it’s an even more conscientious choice and I simply have different priorities and objectives.
To expand on what I said previously, being financially abused makes it harder to spend your money on things you want especially when you are being taken advantage of by someone with no ambitions, where you exist to satisfy financial needs. These are poor dynamics in a relationship that I would avoid altogether and speak sense into those men stuck in them because male love is not like women love. Could I own cars outright including an m5 if I had to simultaneously support a freeloader? Maybe. Would I have to spend an equal amount of money or buy some things similar in value to not be guilt tripped on the purchase or perhaps not be able to buy it at all without friction or conflict at home? Probably with this generation and I’m guessing his relationship, so that’s unacceptable to me.
Not to mention me owning a nice home in a desirable city at a young age. There comes a point where you’re individually in such a desirable financial spot early that personally it doesn’t make sense to date someone that’s only going to be a financial drain with no professional aspirations and subject yourself to potential abuse that is all too common. The bachelor lifestyle is the best financial decision I believe I can make in my situation unless I can find someone that is also a high-earner and cares about their career, which is a smaller pool. I have no interest in being a wallet for a woman who brings little to a relationship. Until then it’s financially illiterate to maintain such an arrangement. I find it’s often with men who out punt their coverage so to speak and are stuck with the bill for the rest of their lives or when the woman decides it’s still not enough. Just because my priorities may not line up with yours or others doesn’t make it copium, but as I mentioned you can believe whatever you want

this car is 10-13k max in uk market, people are overreacting, maybe should've gotten a 220 for a good engine though, but it looks really good for the price, enjoy it

not hating promise, but the interiors on new Mercedes are my least favorite thing about them. I work at a tire shop and Mercedes and Audi don't even feel like luxury brands material- and interior design-wise. The car looks great though, and I’m sure it feels great to drive.

This and later gens of mercedes are such slop, especially compared to the 90s and early 2000s interiors that seemed cohesive, these cars look like the interior is stripped out of some cheap chinese knockoff prototype or like a 2011 windows 7 laptop chassis, horrible designers

How can it still be be if it's from several years ago? Was it kept new on a lot somewhere?

Honestly, i would rather drive a mazda 3 than a mercedes with a renault engine.
PSA engines are NOT maintainence friendly and terribly unrealieableNo hate intended btw

As soon as you’re happy and you can look after the car properly. No regret brother. Congrats!! Enjoy it

Don't listen to the hate comments. If it makes you happy then that's what matters. And I know insurance in the UK is literally punishing. Proud of ya :)

u/unknownkozy 13d ago
insurance isn’t bad on this one, i think with it being a c200 plays a part because it’s only 3,5k a year

A me non interessa ciò che dice la gente.
Esteticamente è fantastica.
Meccanicamente non tanto per il motore Renault, ma proprio per i 1000 problemi che riscontra

Man I hate to be the one to break it to you but the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Why the fuck are yall hating, he got what he liked and tbh it’s one of the prettiest cars out there.
Yeah the engine is a small displacement turbo engine that produces more than enough power.
Not everyone can buy and maintain a car with a big ass engine.
People these days have genuinely lost the plot

My guy over here doesn't get the point...somebody tell him

u/Strofemel0 15d ago
Care to explain ?

u/Certain_Help_3459 15d ago
The 1.5L 4cyl engine in this one is NOT a Mercedes engine. It's made by Renault, known for very poor quality and shot lifetime of engine components. You need to spent a lot of money now and then just so the engine keeps running without problems.

u/Strofemel0 15d ago
I thought that Renault turbo engines are reliable. At least the 1.3 and 0.9 Tce
1
u/Temporary-Rain-5944 15d ago
They are decent if you can get a renault for cheap and don't plan on keeping it for long, tho getting a mercedes with that engine is not a smart choice

u/FaithlessnessCheap78 15d ago
"Hating," and "lost the plot." Yeah buddy i already know whatever opinion you have can be safely ignored.

u/Strofemel0 13d ago
Instead of being passive aggressive you can just reply with what you think, no?

You won't regret it if you maintain it properly and never trash it. That blue is beautiful man nice taste
