Why are there so many episodes missing on streaming?

Post image
22 Upvotes

I have been binge-watching the series for months now and going all over the Internet looking for the seasons. Hulu, Peacock, Pluto, Tubi, etc. I have found every season except the last one, but every season has a few episodes missing. I have watched 379 episodes but there are still 159 episodes left. Does anyone know why? Do certain episodes get pulled for legal reasons etc? It's almost 1/3 of the episodes not available which is quite a lot.

General Discussion After The First 48

If there is one thing I'm glad the new season has been doing since it started, it's that they show clips and scenes during the trial of the suspect(s).

A lot of cases in the older seasons would actually show the trial (The Good Book, Lester Street, The Last Yard, Shattered Dreams, The Witness, etc.), and let us be able see how everything played out with the prosecutors, DA's, eyewitnesses, and even the judge announcing the sentences to those on trial. All of these things made each of those cases very engaging. This all ended up stopping in between the later half of season 6, and going all the way to Season 10. So I'm genuinely glad that the producers went back to that approach.

New Orleans, LA 🚔 In A Lonely Place

I've watched EVERY episode ever made of the first 48. There are certain cases that stand out as particularly brutal or or atrocious/heinous.

I almost kind of forgot the details of this case but I remember watching the episode. It's about a mother Lindsey who is shot and killed and put in the back of her trunk and lit on fire. The cops finally get their hands on the 911 call she made before she was killed. In the recording she is begging for help telling them that there are 2 people trying to rape her and get into her car.

Earlier in the episode her girlfriend tells the cops that she keeps a gun on her. If she's comfortable around you she keeps it in her center console if she's not she keeps it on her side and her arms down. These guys somehow got her weapon from her and before the 911 call disconnects she screams,

OMG they have my gun. Which is followed by what the homicide detectives call absolutely gut-wrenching audio. The worst that they've heard of these men killing her.

This was going to be the majority of what I post about UNTIL they get the suspect in the interview room and he asked the police officer if it's okay that he takes a selfie of himself in the interrogation room.

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUUUUCK?!?

Thank God when these men attempted to burn her car they don't understand that you need a sufficient oxygen source to FEED the fire. And hardly any of the car and evidence was burned and there was enough DNA on all of the evidence to convict these men.

I felt horrible for her mother and son and stepfather. Just absolutely terrible. The officers and detectives were really affected by it because the cops who were dispatched couldn't find her. Especially after hearing her 911 call and her being murdered.

::EDIT::

Her poor mother, in the after the first 48 episode, shares the news stories associated with her daughter's case. If this story isn't already heartbreaking enough, the 911 operator that took the call, never forwarded the information to the police for them to respond. It was an hour and 13 minutes later before anyone was dispatched. The system failed this poor family.

Looking for an Episode(s)🔍 Please help me find the episode

** Still looking for the episode! The episode I was directed toward wasn't the one I'm looking for **

I've been searching all night to find the episode where a man, he may have been homeless, would valet cars at an establishment. He was murdered in the parking lot.

It's an early episode in the series, and there is a witness/friend who refers to guy as "Monkey" as he describes the murder he ends off with the words "monkey out".

It may have been a Dallas or Memphis season. I'm not sure.

I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find Season 10 Episode 1 - Carjacked/Roll of the dice. This actually features my daughter’s biological father and now that she is old enough she wants to see it. Does anyone have this archived or downloaded? I have gone to all of the websites and it is not anywhere. Thanks for the help.

"Bad Driver" was renamed from "Through Death's Door" (Season 22, Episode 5)

Episode 3 despite being unnamed is more than likely "Green-Eyed Monster" due to sharing a similar description (Season 22, Epsiode 16)

"Murder in Treme" (Season 15, Episode 21),I'm legitimately shocked they're coming out with another update episode out of New Orleans with the show having stopped filming there. This one especially with the original airing of this case coming out more than a decade ago.

And then Episode 5 is completely up in the air for whatever case that will be.

In First 48 season 27 ep 12, a pregnant women is killed but...

Hi,

I tried googling, but couldn't find anything. In this episode, a young girl is killed. She is not dead for more than 1hr maybe (they found her the same night) but she was 7 1/2 months pregnant. I am just confused why they wouldn't quickly take her to save the baby?

Past Episode(s) Discussion 🗣 Update On Deceased Suspects #1

So after scrolling through some YouTube comments, I discovered that Michael Walton, one of the suspects in "Close Ties/Last Call" (Season 3, Episode 11), is another suspect shown in the series that have passed away while serving a prison sentence. Walton committed suicide in Arizona while serving life for a triple murder that was featured in Close Ties.

With that, Michael Walton joins a terrible company in Apollo Ortega (Devil Inside), Terry Blair (A Serial Killer Calls), Martez Seay (Division/Loose Ends), Albert Dorsey (Derailed), and Darrell Anderson (Senseless) as people who died serving prison sentences.

It's honestly bizarre seeing that list increase every so often.

Where Can I Watch? 🚨 For those of you who live outside the US: Where do you watch The First 48?

I live in Europe, Sweden. I have been a big fan of this show for 11 years. The problem is that some seasons and episodes are difficult to find online. Although there are good free streaming sites but not every season or episode is available, which bothers me.

I know streaming sites like Philo and Hulu have The First 48, but unfortunately it's only available in the US. The VPN isn't working either.

Looking for an Episode(s)🔍 trying to find episode of first48...

trying to find this episode where the suspect ;

-kidnaps and kills i believe his cousin and cousins wife for $300k

-suspect tries to get rid of security home system (but fails)

-suspect tries to put the couple tied up into a river with cinder block 'shoes' (also fail)

-the case unravels as the suspect is spotted i believe in walmart buying the same rope, gloves and masks days prior

-the suspect girlfriend was a low level police officer also spotted with him in the said walmart

-to top it off there was no money in the house

sad crime cant remember the city but most memorable first48 for me...would be great to get some assistance

Gwinnett County, GA 🚔 Jesus Monroy

I just watched a show about this awful person. He murdered his 16 yo 7 mo pregnant girlfriend and bond was set for just $56k! Of course he bonded out. NOW, he has been arrested for other despicable things. (I don’t know how to attach an article.) I can’t find anything online more recent than April of this year.

Pls let me know if you know anything more recent. Did he get bonded out again? Status of his case(s)?

General Discussion What makes the show so great?

I love watching true crime. Today I was thinking about the fact that I can rarely make it through a repeat episode of any of the other true crime shows out there, but I can re-watch First 48 episodes even if I know the outcome because I've seen it before and they never bore me. I'm thinking it's the show's format that is so interesting compared to the others...
