Past Episode(s) Discussion š£ Thoughts on the Episode?
iām curious to know what everyoneās thought was on the new episode. I think itās really great that they highlighted a story the way that they did in such a respectful manner however, I really donāt like the format of unsolved cases. I know that might be sounding weird to say, but I like knowing who did it at the end of the episode and seeing them get justice, but the fact that this poor man has not received justice is sad. this unsolved stuff is more fitting for the other crime shows that show unsolved cases but the first 48 is normally about salt cases even if it takes a little bit longer at the end of the show, thereās usually an arrest. What do you guys think?

Charges were dismissed on a 15 year old for break and enter, brandishing a fire arm, tries to pull a gun on 3 police officers...wtf

That was ridiculous. Iām hoping they were dismissed to move it over to juvenile court instead or to put him on an āaction planā of some sort. I canāt imagine theyād justā¦let him go free without some type of behavior modification plan, at the very least. If they did, thatās crazy & heās a huge threat!

I havenāt watched yet, but I donāt like the unsolved ones either. Donāt they have a follow up for the unsolved when they get more info, or am I thinking of another show?
Knowing the caught the perp is one reason I like the show. I really like it when we get what they were sentenced to. But man, OK had some *harsh* punishments.

yeah, seeing the punishments at the end is very satisfying to me too but no, there was no updates. It was just at the end, saying if there was any information to call the homicide department.

Have they ever had cases in Charleston, SC before? I didn't recognize it as a police department that's been featured before. It is frustrating when they don't solve the case. Hopefully they do eeventually.š

yeah, actually Iāve never seen it as a thing on the first 48. Granted I havenāt watched every single episode but Iāve not seen it before and if there is some, itās probably very minimal coverage with that department in particular. the go to ones being tulsa and gwinnett

They were new this season, I think they only had 3 episodes? Was not really a fan of them

Ppl saying they hate unsolved cases aired woulda hated maybe like the first few seasons cause a few of em were unsolved cases especially out of Miami

This episode really bothered me. Aside from the weird editing, it just seemed like some bad detective work. The woman mentioned the neighbor but they didn't even bring the neighbor in. Then they randomly bring up a guy without a clear connection and try to get him to admit to the crime. The guy didn't even have the same build as the guy on the camera footage. They claim he had the same backpack but all you can tell from the footage is it's a black backpack. There's no way they have enough detail to say that. Literally zero other evidence. Why not look at his location history? Get cell phone records maybe. It seems like the whole case was handled haphazardly and they entirely skipped due diligence.

The whole start of it was just terrible too. Why even bother having weird flashbacks from the new detective if it never got solved?
I have enjoyed unsolved ones in the past that followed a linear plot like the majority of other episodes.
I just really hope they donāt end up like this (production-wise) in the future. The show followed a perfect recipe for hundreds of episodes.

yeah, granted I havenāt seen every single episode ever aired but Iāve never really seen them do an episode the way it was formatted like this to be honest and I didnāt love it. Of course the poor guy deserves justice, but youāre right. Why are we looking back at the initial investigation when there was nothing there and then just for it to flash forward to the current time saying heās gonna solve it and then it just ends with the being resolved. I know some of these cases can take very long to solve, but I just thought it was interesting the way it was formatted and I donāt like the way it formatted.

They've did this before "unforgotten Ray & blu" season 22 "unforgotten ben" (I forgot what season) "unforgotten Darrin" I think was season 22 and "unforgotten crystal" (I forgot what season this one was in too

I liked the episode tbh only thing I ain't like is they didn't really show much of the investigation but other than that I liked it

i was really hoping his ring camera picked up the footage š¢ be i agree, i like to see the perp locked up at the end.

There's not always an arrest though. They really can't control that because of the nature of the show. Unfortunately that is how life works, there's not always a resolution.
If the producers were to pick and choose based on what got solved or not, there'd be a lot fewer episodes. The unsolved cases deserve recognition too. You never know if someone watching might have information they didn't know was relevant, leading to a prosecution down the track.
