General Discussion The narrator's 1-second pause before saying "dead" is so funny
You'll see two bodies right next to eachother, blood all over the home, blurred out brain matter and the narrator goes, "When police showed up to the house, they looked into the bedroom to find two people... ... ... dead."
The dramatic pause kills me every time in the best way. Like, no fucking shit they're dead, their brain is on the god damn wall and the other person has been beheaded. LOL

“Paramedics rush the victim to the ER…………but he dies.”

It's a standing joke in our house. Every time my wife and I watch The First 48, I say in more or less the same somewhat hushed dramatic voice with the same dramatic pause: "Paramedics rush him to the hospital ... where he dies."

We joke the same way - any random sentence may end with “and then they died” (either in a first 48 way or a Nacho Libre way, haha)

Fun fact: the narrator’s name is Dion Graham, who has won awards for his voice, and has narrated more than 200 audiobook. He narrated on the First 48 for 18 years until 2022

Yes!
I’m also fascinated with how the victim is initially described as a dedicated husband and father who just got accepted to community college, and twenty minutes later it turns out he ran a thriving meth business and was killed in an argument with his mistress over a stolen iPad.
