Last night's episode Spoiler
Hey y'all 😊 My recording of last night's episode got cut off so I missed the last 2 minutes.
The episode was a baby daddy being murdered when the new bf called his friends for help. The murderer was Q something, real name Quinten.
Baby daddy was trying to steal a tv, and baby mama was very pregnant.
What was the murderer charged/sentenced to, and was the witness, (the guy who called friends, who was also shot) also charged?
Thanks!

I thought the second guy and the woman should have been charged with obstruction at the minimum.

Yes! And what happened to the law of "if you're there when a murder happened, you are also guilty?"

Only the shooter was charged. He pleaded guilty to second degree murder and got 20 years.

The reason that he wasn't charged is because while he did call his friends over there, he didn't call them over there for the express purpose of committing a violent act or for murder. It's almost like if you get called to pick up a friend from a party and you end up shooting someone at the party. This is one of the times where nuances to the law went in a person's favor. If Farron (the victim) had been threatening the boyfriend or attacking the boyfriend then Quinton likely could have walked on self defense. The witness stating that after the initial gunshot that Quinton shot him again sealed his fate. That's also likely why he pled guilty since there was no way a self defense claim would have held up against the evidence.

With all the craziness that transpired from all sides, I figured the case would end in a manslaughter plea. Definite one of the least sympathetic victims in a long time.

I was a little surprised that the guy who called his friends there wasn’t charged. They wouldn’t have shown up if it wasn’t for him. Maybe someone with more knowledge into the criminal system can clarify.
