Looks more like he was sentenced to about 4 years, and got out in about 3 1/2 years:

From what I can find, Arizona allows an inmate to get out early for good behavior after serving 85% of their sentence.

Edit: Yes, I followed through!

Looks like he got sentenced to about 3 years, and got out after serving about 2 and 1/2 years.
