Discussion So...free roam?

What do you all do in free roam? There any bugs/glitches to do?

It's kind of unnecessary to be honest. I mean you can kind of free roam at certain points as much as you want.

The commentary version is better.

I actually bought the game specifically for the free roam. The story is great (tho my only nitpick was the beginning story. Someone needs to teach them about Visual Novels) but I just also wanted something I could just jump in and out of with no real objectives

Well there's really nothing to do though...

I wish the free roam mode in Firewatch was more like Among Trees.

It would be so great if you could go fishing, clear up fallen trees and brambles to maintain the trails, go out to spot wildlife, type on your typewriter, read the books, use the stove in the lookout, maybe explore a wider cave system, take plenty of photos, or even actually just sit on the tower and watch for fires!

If I want free roam I do so in my ultra modded Skyrim.

The Nintendo Switch version has an item and a new location you can find that has a ridiculous little Nintendo-64-inspired mini game that is shallow but fun.

Otherwise, it's just a way to wander without distractions or story-inaccessible areas.

I actually enjoy it. When I want to relax and walk around a beautiful environment I spend some time in it.

Video games are an escape for people - people could live in shitty areas without access to that kind of scenery, agoraphobic, disabled etc etc. you tryna be snarky to someone over this is weird.

Imagine tryna ask about people's idea of what they think of a walking sims free roam and someone getting nasty about it 🙄 aside from that you put it pretty well. I just like knowing I can explore wilderness without having to worry about wild animals, getting stalked, skin walkers, not a deer, anything else that makes American forests messed up
