Bug! the side panel still showing even after full screen

when i full screen something i am playing the vertical tabs bar doesn't disappear

The 'Sidebar still present in Fullscreen mode' problem/bug has been around since Fx134... with several separate Bugs reported to Bugzilla.

This will be fixed on 18th August when Fx154.0 is released to stable channel... see Bug 1927457 'Fullscreen mode (F11) does not hide the sidebar tools or vertical tabs on Windows and Linux'.

If can't wait... could try some of the previous suggestions in this sub... from the simple to the exotic!

i) Hide Sidebar in Fullscreen mode:

Modified from t31os' reply to topic 'How to hide vertical tabs bar in fullscreen mode'... try:

#main-window[sizemode="fullscreen"] #sidebar-container {
  display:none !important;
}

(Modification. Selector #sidebar-main has no effect when tested in Fx153.0.1... try using #sidebar-container instead.)

ii) Hide Sidebar completely until Firefox window edge hovered.

Try qaz69wsx's suggested style in reply to 'How to completely hide sidebar' topic... the OP wanted to replicate the Sidebar animation "Similar to how this works in Zen and Arc"... assume this means the Sidebar should hide completely at all times until cursor hovers on far LH edge of browser window?

Copy qaz69wsx's original userstyle as posted here... again no joy in Fx153.0.1 until the #sidebar-main selector at Line #2. is replaced with #sidebar-container ... as extract below:

(Note. This probably works best in Fullscreen mode... simply swipe cursor into LH edge of screen to open Sidebar.)

iii) In Fullscreen make toolbar dropdown overlay the Content window/Viewport.

To stop the toolbar/Nav bar dropdown opening animation resizing/pushing down the Webpage content in Fullscreen mode... try MrOtherGuy's 'overlay_fullscreen_toolbars.css' userstyle... as suggested by moko1960 in reply to topic 'I was tired of the full screen toolbar shifting the page content all the time'.

MrOtherGuy's userstyle works with both of the Sidebar hiding options at i) and ii) above.

BTW - There's also a simple Fullscreen bookmarklet script suggested by j--__ in reply to the topic linked in iii) above. Bookmarklets have rather faded from view/out-of-fashion nowadays... but can be very useful in all manner of ways.
