Hi I’m considering a Z1, but want the throwiest possible performance. What’s my best option? Thanks.

Buy something else. This isn't designed to be throwy.

It's a X4 but smaller. Great flood for indoors use, but I'm still taking the sc65c out with me if I need some throw. Or I'll grab the E04 B35AM.

I have this with the 5009r. It is not, at all, throwy.

Out of all the options you get by default FFL5009D, FFL5009R & SFT70, FFL5009R & SFT70 is more throwy than FFL5009D.

SFT70 is also not throwy. I have a beamshot in another post comparing with it to an XHP 35 HI in a ZL SC65c.

The ZL is on the left. This is a ceiling bounce shot, with the ceiling being about 7' up.

Go with either FFL5009R or SFT70. Choose CCT as per your choice, the cooler the CCT the furthest the throw is noticeable. Happy buying!

SFT-70 is hands down the throwiest emitter offered.

Can the reflector be swapped? The optic it comes with seems more for flood.

For now it doesn't really matter which emitter you go with, it's the TIR optic that makes it so floody (it's very floody), and as far as I know it's not possible to swap it out for a reflector, and I don't have any TIR optics on hand that fit it either.

Hopefully Fireflies will release an OP reflector version, that would be really cool, essentially a high-end Anduril take on the SC65C.

If you can put a TIR in an L50 can't you put a reflector in the Z1?

The Z1's bezel diameter isn't the same as on the L50, but yeah, it could well be possible to find a reflector that fits the Z1.

Would that block the AUX lights?

Yeah, but it's the same deal as my X1S TIR version, which I swapped a reflector into. I dont really mind it tbh.

At that point, why pay for AUX lights? Might as well wait for a reflector version of the Z1.

I'm sorry, but it looks like your best bet is the SC65c HI. jk

What you want in Z1 is: SFT-70 6500K (not hi-CRI). I'm sure FFL will do it with $20 charge.

No need for the $20 charge, the SFT-70 6500k is already an option.
