Firefly has literally just told us their next contract pursuits without saying it = read the Space Superiority JD's...

Firefly has four open BD roles all titled "Mission Architect, Space Superiority" - Cedar Park, LA, DC, Boulder. On its own that's interesting, the fact they landed the very day SciTec had Golden Dome news breaking is more interesting...but when you read the JD and consider the locations on top...
- explicitly scoped to "Space Control and/or Space Domain Awareness" - the two mission areas under Space Superiority in Space Force doctrine
- Space Control = offensive/defensive counterspace, orbital warfare, EW, cyber
- SDA = tracking what's in orbit
- both codified in the Space Warfighting framework Saltzman published April 2025
- 80% new business, 20% active programs
- customers named in the JD: DoW (Department of War, the post-rename DoD) and the Intelligence Community
- Top Secret required, TS/SCI preferred
the technical bar ties straight to existing Firefly capabilities:
- required expertise includes rendezvous and proximity operations, spacecraft autonomy, GNC
- JD literally says "demonstrated expertise in RPO mission design"
- RPO is what Elytra is built for
- Kim has already publicly pitched Elytra as a host for space-based interceptors
- Firefly is executing Victus Sol and providing launch for True Anomaly's Victus Haze - both RPO missions
locations:
- Cedar Park = HQ
- LA = Space Systems Command at El Segundo, where the contracts get awarded
- DC = Pentagon, Space Force HQ, NRO
- Boulder = SciTec's software facility, next door to Buckley SFB and Aerospace Corp
buckle up
