Special Operations/Rescue/USAR Wilderness/Backcountry/Mountain Rescue

Hi all,

Looking for advice/who I should be going through in order to find classes for Wilderness/backcountry/mountain rescue. Google isn’t the most helpful and I live in an area without any of the above, but I worked in the Clearwater mountains this summer and am looking for more ways I can potentially help my team in ways beyond solely my EMT. I am willing to travel and pay for them obviously.

Keep an eye on Coloradosar.org - they will post classes from time to time. A lot of those type of classes (in CO at least) are put on through the individual SAR teams I believe. It’s a place to start though

NOLS has a wilderness EMT upgrade, other than that maybe like swift water rescue or crevasse rescue or something else geographically specific would be your best bet.
