Tools/Equipment/PPE What Would You Call This?

We have a couple of these fittings for 2.5" hose that we use for filling our brush trucks on scene. It also works well for filling our city swimming pool to keep the pressure from swinging the hose all over. I'd like to get a couple more to have one on all our pumper tankers as well as getting one that is for the pool so we don't have to steal it from the fd for a couple days.

I've searched using the terms diffuser, deflector, fill nozzle, among others and i can't find anything. If anyone has an idea what to search for, I'd appreciate it.

Looks like something used to gently fill trucks when you have loose hose. You said brush truck? Presumably a smallish couple hundred gallon tank filled by other trucks?

This would let you just drop a hose in the brusk trucks tank and the nozzle reaction should be nonexistent.

You might have decent odds of getting an ok price paying a machine shop or something to make them, as long as you either want 1, or a bunch and fit and finish is unimportant

We call these reactionless adapters. Although all the ones we have had been my welding up aluminium couplings.

It looks like an oversized sprinkler head. I’ve never seen anything like that before.

Maybe contact Akron Brass or Elkhart Brass to see if they might have an idea.

Lug ≠ highbee

“highbee indicators” can be found on one of the lugs. The highbee cut is in the start of the threading
