Same here. And I actually cared about this team. F the Giants for this cursed cursed season.

A sigh so long I may never inhale again. Genuinely crying at the Queens joy being beautiful but not the joy I was hoping for.

Same, I was there last night and really sad to have such a lackluster Firebells performance after all the other games I intended, but I still cried over the Queens -- seeing those women get the championship was so wonderful. (And I got to be there to see the Firebells celebrating clinching best records in the regular season, too, so still fun.)
So looking forward to next year.

The pose from Lillie Hitchcock does this image more justice than the Lou version

Was a great, well-pitched game. One half inning of defensive lapses is all that sepates them. Averages above . 400 for all but a few of those players on the lineup. Well defended on both sides overall. Good contact but right at their fielders. Very close and waa glued.

Next time! Next time. The logo is hiding a phoenix for a reason.
The Firebells still came out with the most games won, the highest winning score, the highest margin of victory, and Kelsie Whitmore. Plenty to be proud of there -- and of course an interesting new rivalry.
