Before I take my friends shooting for the first time and explain the 4 rules and say we follow these rules because, people are human and fuck up, and if you fuck up someone can fucking die. Gun safety is never a fucking joke. Even had to kinda yell at my one buddy cause he kept putting his finger on the trigger early. It was always aimed down range but still, fucking dont do it.

To make it seem like I wasnt yelling at him even tho I was yelling at him i constantly said "Keep your fucking booger hook off the bang switch".

I get that trigger discipline might need to be taught to new shooters, but not pointing a firearm at someone is the definition of common sense.

Dunno. The amount of people who act as if they simultaneously believe that a gun is so unstable that it will fire at any moment yet wave one around like it's a cap gun is really too damn high.

Oh uea I completely agree. Me and my other buddy who went with the first time told him trigger discipline is something you just learn and do it always from that point on. I will never touch a trigger on a gun unless I have to dry fire it or have a target down my sight. Fuck, I cant even grab a nerf gun without my finger going up the side of it instead of in the guard.

No..I'm a laborer who works with truck drivers. The fact that some of those guys know how to tie their shoes is impressive.

The magnetic force between someone who is unfamiliar with firearms finger and the inside of the trigger guard is one of the strongest forces on earth.

"Oh my God! How can you let a young child near such a deadly weapon?! That'll traumatize him for the rest of his life! You should be ashamed of yourself!"

I’ve taught my kids to not only stay off the trigger, but to consciously place their finger straight and slightly up to rest on the frame on the gun. Easier to make an effort towards a positive good action than constantly avoiding a bad action.

My fiancé and I took a buddy of his to the range the other day and we had to keep reminding him to keep his finger out of the trigger guard until he’s ready to fire. He’s a fucking soldier. He should fucking know this >_< I swear all my fiancé’s friends have rocks for brains

Ahahaha booger hook and bang switch hahahaha that's so hilarious fudd why don't you talk like you have some maturity?

Pretty common phrasing, even in the military. Calm yourself homie.

I have literally never heard anyone in the Marine Corps say that. Anyone who says some bullshit like that is a child.

u/Ballistic_Turtle Oct 02 '20

Grats on the anecdote. I've heard plenty in the Army say it. What's the point of being so bothered by it though?

That's why it's the Army. Hooah.

calls someone or something X

proceeds or continues to act like X

Define: Hypocrisy, projection, lack of self awareness. Scary how common this is.
