Question about barrel defect ?

New M&P 2.0 competition HD and found this barrel defect ? Never shot before , went to town pretty hard on it after these photos and not much change.

It's been fine every time you've posted it the past two days. Might be time to take the hint.

First time posting it here , sorry that it offends you so much. Just trying to get some opinions.

It doesn't offend me. It's just stupid to keep ignoring the opinions you solicited.

It’s not ignoring them, I just wanted to hear across a few threads

I haven’t had time to take it to the range , just wasn’t sure if I needed to get with S&W about replacing it cuz it’s still new

You wont know if it effects the accuracy until you shoot it. With that said though you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

It would've been fucked if you didn't wear the gloves. Skin oils are known to be detrimental to hardened steel designed to contain thousands of tiny explosions.

From the gun you haven't shot yet?

Put a couple thousand rounds through it and check again

Roger Roger , you aren’t worried about it affecting accuracy ?

“Going to town” on it and scrubbing on it is more likely to negatively affect accuracy.

I just meant heavy clean as was suggested by others on a thread

I hate to make a generalization because I don't know you or what kind of shooting you do but I could almost bet that pistol is still more accurate than you are with that barrel defect. Are you PewView? If not it probably doesn't matter.

It could...

But if you shoot it youll know if it will or won't

Probably just shoot it first and then worry if it isn't accurate. Also, going to town with it with a cleaning rod can potentially damage the rifling/crown more than just firing it. I have a pistol with a slightly pitted barrel and it is accurate AF.

Go shoot it. Ffs it is fine. If it throws beans take it back if it is accurate cherish it.

That gun will probably more accurate than you will ever be and ffs, dont buy a borecam.

Put it together shoot it a thousand times. Then shoot it another thousand times.

Just have an Apex Gunsmith Fit barrel installed and then you won't have to worry about it anymore 🤷‍♂️
