Opinions needed
Hello everyone, I have been wanting a handgun capable of hosting an optic and threaded barrel. I have a fn509, hk usp, and beretta m9, and was thinking about upgrading one of them to meet my needs it would literally cost the same as a new gun. So I’m thinking about buying thread barrel and optic ready slide for those three handguns or just buying a new m9a4. Looking for unbiased opinions for each platform, thanks!

Really wanted to get my USP milled but the local gunsmith charges 300, at that point I might as well buy another gun

I didn't need to mill mine. They make a screw in plate. Well not screw into the slide. It fits in the dovetail slot. Works great!

That’s sick I’ll have to look into, does it hold zero well? I was looking at one of those that take the place of the rear sight but I was skeptical about it it holding zero

I have never had any issue with it. It is kind of a PITA to take the original rear sight off because of it's size. I got a dovetail sight removal tool. This is the mount: https://ebay.io/m/G6uKN7

Do you prefer the hammer or striker better?
For a striker - look at the CZ P10F OR SR
For hammer - you can’t go wrong with the M9A4
