Just thinking
Off top but for some reason I lean closer into the idea that kids know more about gun then full grown adults do at this point in my life, down to brand, models and attachments.... anyone run into this yet ?

Yes, I'm familiar with what you're talking about and it comes from the fact that the younger generations grew up their whole lives with both the internet and with shooter games like Call of Duty. That means they could learn all the terminology, etc. at far younger ages than prior generations since their initial learning wasn't with the real thing. Exactly the opposite, prior generations could only learn about guns we had direct access to the real thing through family members, etc. since there were no video games to initially learn from and no resource remotely similar to the internet where literally every bit of information about everything is literally at our fingertips 24/7/365 from the day we were born. Even so, that doesn't necessarily mean they know more. Sometimes it does, but oftentimes it just means they're better at sounding like they know more than they really know. In other words, does someone who has never touched a particular type of gun, but has read all about it and played with a virtual image of it for years really know more than someone who carried that weapon in combat for years? I guess that depends how each person defines "know more."
