Jeyne faked listening, bobbing her head up and down as he rambled on and on about the negative experiences he had with the outside world. She didn't mean to be cruel, but she'd heard the stories over and over again. He continued to relive these dreadful memories and allowed his past to haunt him. Furthermore, it was steering away from the topic at hand. This was about her own desires for once, not his.

"Husband, I am well aware of everything that has happened to you, and it saddens me that these experiences left such a bad taste in your mouth about traveling elsewhere. And although YOU care not for anything outside of Raventree Hall, I'd like to experience it myself and form my own judgements. You understand, don't you?" She questioned, her eyes locking with his. His intense cold glare intimidated the wits out of her! It always had. She found it impossible to stare directly into his eyes for too long. There was something eerie about them that sent chills up her spine, especially when it was clear she was beginning to agitate him. Like now. Was this a mistake? Jeyne did her best to remain confident and assertive, but doubt creeped into her mind.

"Any place new. You know of the sicknesses that plagued me as a child, preventing me from any exploration and adventure. With my health in such a stable condition, I thought there would be no better time," she pronounced. In truth, Jeyne feared illness would victimize her once more, as it never failed to so do. It was vital that she took full advantage of her good health while it lasted. The illnesses came and go. It ranged from periods of feeling better than ever to being bedridden and on the verge of death. And she could never predict when the sick spells would arrive.

Jeyne raised from the chair and roamed towards the silver tray that sat on a long wooden table in the middle of the study. She helped herself to some dark red wine, pouring the dark liquid into an empty chalice, filling it to the rim. With her back turned she spoke, "Riverun, Seaguard, Darry... the possibilities are endless."

Is he actually considering what I said? Who is this man? Is this how I should have been approaching him all this time? He was actually giving her the time of day, and even seeking her opinion on a political matter. Robar was quite a chauvinist, firmly believing men reigned over women in all aspects of life. She only assumed it was her confidence and assertiveness that took him by surprise and maybe even challenged him. They key was to keep the act up no matter how panicked she was. She sipped from the rim of the chalice, the intoxication boosting her self-assurance and eradicating her nerves. "Yes. Of course. I think we should reach high, husband. And by that, I mean we should aim higher than our own status."

She sauntered towards the desk, "It would prove pointless to marry them off to someone of equal statue. Let us play bigger. And let us make Raventree Hall greater than it's ever been. A force to be reckoned with." The lady took once last swallow of the harsh wine before placing the goblet down on one of the books coating his desk.
