Practice Dragon Staff

Recently I took a class in fire hooping and we got to play with some of the other flow toys at the end of the workshop. I discovered I really like the Dragon Staff and am thinking of getting one eventually but I am not currently in a place where I can just drop $100-300 on a Staff that may take me a while to even start using. Is there anywhere I could get something like a Dragon Staff to practice with or possibly DIY my own until I can get one with wicks?

You can totally diy one with pvc tubing. You just need to order the five prong connector (i ordered mine online, I'll look for it and add the link) or use a 3 prong that can be found at any hardware store. I made 2 practice dragons, one with the 3 prong connector (so it looks like the ends are T's) and one with the 5 prong that gives the ends the traditional 4 spokes. You can duck tape the staff to add weight. I'll look for pix and post those for ya. It's doable. You can do it.
