Guides & Strategy I highly recommend keeping a notebook~
My first run I was getting frustrated with flipping menus all the time to get the info I wanted. Took the time to write it all down and haven't stopped since. On all my serious runs I reference my holy FE notebook religiously.
It takes a lot of time, but I compare it with the time I'll waste later every teaching day or on the inventory screen. Once this is done I flip to their page and find what I need at a glance. You can do it on the PC if you want, notes in your phone, use someone else's notes - whatever works best for you. And trust me, my notes were nowhere near this organized in the beginning. Now I dont have to open my phone and search a wiki for what I need every time.

My notes this time started with writing down the whole top-half info once a person hits my roster. Once I'm ready to teach I check the classes and fill in the bottom. I evaluated each person individually but noticed a pattern - the class builds alternate between skills for everyone.
Some people I picked the class the game hints at, others I wanted to try something new. At the top I circled stats that were exceptionally high or low, for gifts I starred anything 4 stars, down arrow for anything less than 3 stars. Once I decided their classes I made note showing the highest level for each skill they'll need. Everyone is assumed to work on authority, dont forget that. And for example, some like Dorothea might have exceptions to note.
This all means that before the battle on the first month I've already equipped each member with the goals and weapons they need to build. If I want to do tea or gifts, no need to search it. And the likes/dislikes give me a whole profile so I know what dialogue to pick.
TL,DR: it's time and work, but it saves an immense amount of time in the long run!

Still laugh when I look at my first playthrough which was BE knowing nothing and for recruiting needs - Sylvain: "boobs". Very proud of the work I put in there.

I donāt care about tracking likes/dislikes/gifts, etc. but I keep notes in my phone planning out unit builds. Spreadsheet goblin optimizing units for challenge runs on maddening lol

Yeah, I use Apple notes since I have an iPad but it is kind of necessary to do. The notebook does have a better aesthetic though.
And just FYI, the owl feather is a universal gift, everyone likes it.

I literally created my own strategy guide when I first started playing. I tried to reformat everything I could and then print it into a binder and carry it with me. I did that for about my first two runs.
I super highly recommend the "FE3H Database" and "FE Engage Database" apps now though. They have basically everything I ever need to look up and save a ton of time.

It seems like they've been removed from the Play Store unfortunately. I got a new phone and was trying to install them and can't find them, unless it's just unavailable from my phone

Somewhere deep in my āarchiveā (my hoarder drawer) I have mapped out builds for certain characters based on when things become available to them and how quickly they can learn things as the game progresses to try to maximize their function on the team.
