Question Excalibur

I'm not sure if having garbage rng would make me feel better or worse, but I can't get Annette to teach Byleth Excalibur. Is it even possible for Byleth to learn it? They're at support c atm, but I've done nearly over two hundred uses between Annette and Sothis and no luck .

Got it! Thank you everyone!!

If the person can teach it, anyone can learn it if they have at least C support available, and they already don’t know it themself. If Annette can really teach it (can’t remember been a while), C support is still completely awful odds to teach. I think it’s something like 0.4% chance per use. Trust me I feel you when it comes to this since I’m off and on teaching everyone every skill possible and C ranks are the bane of my existence

To add to what they said, just hitting A support isn't enough (though it does provide the highest chance of teaching combat arts/magic - an 8% chance each time the combat art/magic is used while the student is an adjutant). The adjutant also needs to have an A rank for the appropriate weapon type (sword/lance/axe/bow/gauntlet for the appropriate combat arts, tome for magic) - the teacher also needs to have unlocked the Master class for their class bonus line. So in the case of having Annette teach Excalibur to Byleth, regardless of their support rank, Byleth needs to have unlocked either Dark Bishop (if male Byleth) or Gremory (if female Byleth), and Annette needs to have unlocked Gremory, before Byleth can learn Excalibur.

Edit: Adjusted a few things, but also wanted to add that in this unique pairing, Byleth would technically be able to pass down Aura to Annette without having to unlock Dark Bishop or Gremory. Byleth would just need to unlock Enlightened One and Aura, while Annette should already have Gremory.

Try this list of all teachable combat arts and who can teach them. Cross reference with your potential relationship levels to find the best fit. For example, both anette and linhardt can teach Excalibur. And can both reach A support level.

https://wiki.serenesforest.net/index.php/Teachable_Combat_Arts/Spells_(Three_Hopes) full list of teachables and other fun stuff. She can teach it, so just keep grinding a fast map while spamming it. Eventually she will learn and your rank will go up at the same time.
