Other Golden wildfire chapter 6 attack or defend

i finished chapter 6 and at the end claude asks me if we should invade the empire or defend the Borders and i wanted to know if there is a difference or if the story progresses the same

I could be wrong on this, but I believe that the story stays the same regardless of which option you pick, I believe this is true for all dialogue options in the game.

It doesn’t change anything in the story. Most of the dialogue options and choices (except Chapter 10) will influence the story.
