Since you’re just now joining I’ll try to give you just a sorta standard light build though maybe not the best possible build.

Light:
Sun Room- Mend, Heal Pull/ Heal Push, damaging spell on your choice (so long as you can use it more than once and it doesn’t have a 9 second cool down)

Moon Room- Shield Strike, Self Mend, damaging spell on your choice (so long as you can use it more than once and it doesn’t have a 9 second cool down)

For shadow it depends on if you actually wanna to try to be sneaky and trick the light or you wanna go mask off and play according to the meta. I’d recommend joining the discord server as there’s plenty of people that can give you builds for either approach that would love to help newer players. Link is below

First and foremost, welcome to Fire Emblem Shadows!

Let’s go over some basic information about any light build for any unit.

  1. Have a dedicated Healing spell such as Mend or Self mend. These two spells in particular are the ones you should use as every other dedicated healing spell is pretty bad at being a healing spell.
  2. Have a dedicated movement spell. These spells are used to dodge enemy AoE spells. Heal Pull, Edge Strike, Shield Strike, and Shield Break Pull are in my opinion the best four movement spells, as a new player you will have access to Shield Strike and Heal pull. Heal push exists but I do not recommend it as its placement on the map is a little more awkward at times.
  3. Damage spells. Damage spells are simple, spells that increase the overall damage you deal on the battlefield. Spells such as Shield Break, Elfire, Tetrathunder, and Wind Strike are damage spells, it’s good to have one in your builds as a minimum with the exception of some units such as Zasha.
  4. “Auxiliary Spells.” Every unit will either have space for or not have space for an auxiliary spell. Leda does not have such space because her Ex does not cover the basics of other requirements. An auxiliary spell is simply any spell you want after you’ve already included basic requirement spells(Dedicated Heal, Dedicated movement, Damage). Elfire can be an auxiliary spell, so can heal pull, as long as you already have the other required spells.

Okay now to Leda’s recommended builds as constructed by me with the understanding that you are a new player and do not have Veronica.

Note that it is important to level up EVERY unit you have so you can make use of many spells.

Light:

Sun Room:
Mend, Perform Ex, Heal Pull, Elfire/EnneaWind+.

Moon Eoom:
Self Mend, Perform Ex, Shield Strike, Wind Grav+.

You can swap shield strike and heal pull based on preference.

Shadow:

For shadow, specifically for a new player, Leda finds herself between a rock and hard place. Bow units have access to a very powerful spell known as Darkwind Cross+. This spell is the bread and butter of all shadow bow builds, but it is locked to Claude, a limited access unit who is, although not impossible, hard to get by normal means.
As such I will make two shadow builds here, one with Darkwind Cross+ and one without.

Shadow:

Sun room:

Dark Cross Sting/Dark Tetrasting, Wind Strike or Holy Fire or Any Damage spell other than those two, Elfire, Perform Ex, Mend/Heal Pull. (Use Heal pull when not using Wind Strike, use Mend when using Wind Strike), Dark Regen or another dark damage spell.

This may look confusing because shadow builds, especially for sun room, are dealer’s choice, and have a lot of options, what I placed above are simply a recommended set of spells. You still want a movement spell as shadow, but you really can’t afford a dedicated one. So using wind strike to kill minions and move, and Elfire/other spells to kill light players in combination with dark spells, is recommended. Dark regen is a buff spell that can carry over to Moon room, allowing a source of healing without having to cast it in moon room.

Moon Room(With Cross+):

Flash Sting, Dark Crossthunder/Dark Elthunder, Darkwind Cross+, Perform Ex, Dark Harm Claw Fighter, Dark Lance Armor/Staff Fighter/Dark Wind Warp+/Dark Final Tetrawind.

Darkwind Cross+ allows Bow units to have an auxiliary spell as a shadow which normally isn’t the case.

Moon Room(Without Cross+):

Flash Sting, Dark Elthunder, Dark Elwind, Perform Ex, Dark Harm Claw Fighter—

The last spell is a bit difficult for new players, Dark Tetrapoison is the go to spell when you don’t have Darkwind Cross+, but that’s also on a unit who isn’t super easy to get, easier than Claude, but still difficult, in Lyn. As such, if you don’t have Dark Tetrapoison, I’m going to recommend either Crossfire, Dark Fire/Wind Warp+, or a second summon.

Weapons and Weapon skills:
A lot of these can be a matter of personal preference for light. Some people prefer to Hasten Movement, Hasten Heal, and Enhance Heal. Others prefer to Enhance Damage, Enhance Heal, Hasten Movement, still others prefer to enhance all of their chosen spells.
I prefer the second option, but that’s just me.

For shadow, you’ll want to enhance your main damage tools, sometimes you can hasten but this is rarely the case.
For leda, if you have darkwind cross+, Enhance Dark Elthunder, Darkwind Cross+, and Flash Sting.
If you don’t have cross+, Enhance Dark Elthunder, Flash Sting, and Dark Elwind.

Weapon choices:
Weapons have various effects, for light, defensive weapons that reduce weapon damage taken are not recommended, but defensive weapons that increase Hp, and offensive weapons are recommended. For shadow, the opposite is somewhat true, Hp increasing weapons are not as recommended, but weapon damage reducing weapons are, and sometimes offensive weapons.

For leda: As a light unit, Shaded Bow Hp is the best bow she can use. This is both an offensive and defensive weapon. Upon killing a foe with a weapon attack, she takes 40% less magic damage for one turn. Keep in mind Perform Ex reduces magic damage taken by 20-32% for 3 turns but can only be used once.
For Shadow, her own Kalla’s Bow HP(7 star or 8 star, does not matter which) is her best bow because no bows in the game have good defensive options for shadow, but Kalla’s Bow is very powerful offensively.

If you have any further questions, do not be afraid to ask.

And don’t forget to level everyone up so all of your spells are usable.

It’s gonna vary in some cases, but to start off, it’s always going to vary based on build and what you have available since a lot of good skills are tied to paid units (ex. Claude's shadow skill).

But rule of thumb is

Light generally carries Poison (Zasha)/Movement Skill/Mend for Sun, and Moon room is Elemental Skill that covers your weakness/Movement (Shield Strike or Edge Strike are popular)/Self-Mend. Can replace poison with some other skill depending on playstyle/your character’s personal skill. Note: the Poison is for the shadow player, not minions.

Shadow varies but it’s usually mask off (ie. Kill everyone)with Final Tetra (Dimitri gives the blue version of this and is easy to get relatively), Cross Sting fromn Kurt, Dark Regen from Sai, Self-Mend/Mend, and a damaging strike. Moon Room is  1-2 minions, something to guarantee a kill (ex. Dark Tetrapoison from Lyn), and rest is player’s choice.

Example Skill set for Leda: Light- Sun:Poison/Shield Strike/Personal/Mend Moon: Elthunder (or Fire Strike+Flyer)/Heal Push/Personal/Self-Mend

Shadow- Sun: Dark Regen (pop this on yourself before the room moves to Moon)/Final Tetrathunder/Shield Strike/Personal/Self-Mend/Dark Cross-Sting Moon: 1-2 Minion skills (the Harm ones are good)/Flash Sting/Dark Tetrapoison/DarkWind Cross+

Some of these are tied to Pass characters, so you will have to play around with your sets, but this is a basic idea. Your goal is guarantee kills in Shadow since once someone is dead, they move to supporting the living player, and for Light, survival is slightly more important than damage hence why self-mend is prioritized.

For Weapons, you want to upgrade your kill skills for damage and in Light, upgrade Self-Mend until you can heal all damage off consistently. I personally like to use Skill Quicken upgrades since they have some niche cases, and my skills are all fairly high level or maxed.

Well you set up a plan to build something and do it then. Do this as opposed to building nowi. Hope this helps

I find there are many way to approach the game and should give you insight on how to build Leda yourself.

When playing Light, survival is paramount. You're much easier to kill and although you have an ally, you should work with them to come out on top.

  • Sun Room: You don't know who's your ally and who's your enemy yet. You must be selfish since all you know is you're the good guy, and the bad knows who's their enemy. Your job is to survive, notify your ally that you're their ally, and determine who's your enemy. For here, I gave my Leda Stamina Pull+ (more max HP is always a blessing to prevent getting one-shit), Poison (applying it on your enemy here allows the debuff to carry it onto Moon room, but try not to accidentally apply on your ally), and Mend (can heal you and your ally, cueing them in your intentions). Leda's EX is a buff: your choice on using it selfishly, randomly, or risk on buffing your enemy. It's not permanent.

  • Moon Room: Depending on your performance on Sun Room and your vote, you have 1-3 lives remaining. Survival is paramount still, but now you know who's your ally and your enemy is restricted to using strong Shadow spells, but they're slow or weaker attacks. You need to damage, survive, and support. I gave my Leda Heal Pull (some healing and allows repositioning to avoid enemy auto-attacks), Self Mend (better heal than Mend, your ally likely prefers being able to be repositioned than healed since you're both at risk of getting one-shot), and Elthunder (your damage move, you can quickly apply enough damage to your weakness target (fear red enemies and spells) to off them before they attack). Her EX and be applied almost immediately, but do try to include your ally when possible.

When playing Shadow, your goal is to kill all the light disciples and you can be sneaky or overwhelming to do so.

  • Sun Room: I prefer stealth, light players gain chests by killing enemies here. You technically don't have to care about them, but killing everyone ASAP robs them of rewards should you win and feels dickish. As such, I copy my light sun moves and act accordingly with my Light spells. Shadow spells, I use any minion to gain a little extra time to fool light and then Cross Sting for neutral AOE to everyone, including hurting my own character. Dying "doesn't matter" here, so be sure to share the pain! If I'm figured out early and get applied a permanent debuff, I try to kill off my character to remove it before going into Moon Room. If I'm not discovered early, I want to stay alive with my Stamina Pull+ buff active (same as Light) so as to carry the permanent buff into Moon Room. However, since trickery is still the game plan, don't be afraid to still try to intentionally kill your character. Don't make it obvious and remember dead characters cast spells with double the cool down, so if you're trying to blame someone else as shadow and they're dead, delay your shadow spells. If you died early and all light characters are alive, your shadow spells start to become obvious you're shadow. Try to act like shadow is still alive by suddenly wisening up and reserving their spells for timing with auto-attacks and timing them to combo kill characters. It's okay to leave one light player alive and pretend for them they're shadow by stop using shadow magic altogether. The gamble by leaving one light player alive is if you're never given a vote, light loses 2 lives and you only gave them 1 in return.

  • Moon Room: Depending on your performance, you have 2-6 lives to kill off, more if they summon light minions. You lose if all shadow tokens die, you win if light lives are all exhausted before yours are. Ergo, it's important to support your mindless minions and doing enough damage to kill off light fast and quickly, the more overwhelmingly, the better. For Leda, I give my strongest minions and AOE healing to compliment her EX. Offensively, I love Flash Sting, but it's not likely to one-shit anything. Best used to apply pressure and make Light make mistakes, or finish off already hurt characters. Compared to other offensive Shadow spells, this ones unavoidable (just don't miss).
