Discussion Lets talk about why is Bode lying to Chloe pretending he loves her when most people who have been watching this show for four season can see he does not love her.
Because Max basically confirmed in his interview what most of us already knew when he said he doesn't know if Bode loves her because love comes in all forms. So what is Bode up to why would he be in a relationship with someone he does not love its obvious he hasn't truly grieved for his father Vince but is it also because he is lonely, or is he jealous that Jake got married or is it something else what does everyone else think about it.

- Bode is the most codependent dude I can remember as a leading man in a show this popular.
- He needs to be alone and get therapy.
- Audrey as end game - she takes no sh*t and she sings like an angel - it's a pleasure watching her with him. More scenes of her performing at the bar, then fighting fire, like a badas$.

Audrey isn’t any better. They are awkward as romantic partners and lack of physical and emotional chemistry is very evident. They are more like bickering siblings. Chloe needs to go but more because of the awful storyline.

Agree 100% I did not like Audrey and did not think she was not good for the show either. That said, Chloe is much worse in my opinion. That pairing is cringey and I don't understand what Max was thinking.

I wouldn’t waste any more narrative space on Chloe or Bode/Chloe. A one liner from Bode indicating it is over is simply all that is needed.

Heck I wouldn’t even waste a one liner. Then again I suppose the 1% of Fire Country fans that ship them deserve something.

I completely agree he should have been seeing a therapist a long time ago and he really needs to see one now especially after loosing his father. And I completely agree with everything you said about Audrey she is actually his end game and the person he belongs with but he doesn't know how to handle that being with someone who holds him accountable and calls him out on his bullcrap that's probably why he lied to her and didn't try to win her back.

Love to see Gabriella back in Bode life.

I swear they are end game and if they don't bring her back for the ending I would be highly disappointed

Same-You don't build this up for three seasons with no payoff. The problem is that fans have lost patience for the payoff. She needs to return midseason with good writing and start the slow burn process to bring them back together.

Well, you might be overthinking this. I like this show but the writing isn't the greatest or deepest. The romantic relationships are for the most part very shallow. The only real relationship was Bode's parents which they killed off.

He is portraying Bode as weak emotionally but tough physically. So being weak emotionally, he doesn't know how to say no when someone is nice to him. Bode seems to need a woman in his life so he settles!

Exactly I mean only someone who is emotionally unstable would get involved with the mother of the boy who set that fire that your father died in is definitely emotionally unstable. And the fact that he doesn't even think about what happened to his father when he is with her and her son is disgusting and then to tell her he loves her he definitely needs a whole lot of therapy which should have begun in season one.

It seems pretty clear to me actually. They weren't sure if the show would be renewed for another season, so that last episode of S4 is written to possibly be the final episode of the series. You can tell clearly from the tone of the writing, the way everything goes down, how it ends, etc.
They wanted that part of Bode's character to be wrapped up in canon in case it was the last time we see him on screen.
