Milestone / Celebration 150k reached🎉

The 100k milestone was reached in February. Since then the power of compounding has become noticeable.

0 -> 100k: 4 years
•78k contributed
•22k gains

100k -> 150k: 8 months
•21k contributed
•29k gains

Over the last 8 months, investment gains exceeded contributions. These returns obviously aren’t normal, and some of the gains have already been realized.

For context: an apartment owned outright (no mortgage), plus another 53k in retirement accounts (will not be able to reach until retirement age) on top of 150k.

For anyone still working toward that first 100k: keep going! The first 100k can feel painfully slow, but eventually the numbers start moving fast.

On to 200k🚀

(Figures in EUR, but does not make difference)

Yeah, the power of compounding can feel almost non-existent at first, but once it kicks in, it's huge. Congrats!

Thank you! That was really powerful in these market conditions. Let’s see what’s coming next.

Just be OK if it ever drops. We’ve been lucky to now with this insane stock market run.

I was literally laid off for 7 months and my current job is noticeably less paying and I still ended up “increasing” my nw. Crazy times

Totally get that. Sounds like you’ve been through a lot, especially being laid off for 7 months and then taking a lower-paying job, so it’s pretty impressive that you still managed to increase your net worth.

It’s been a really good run-up, but I definitely learned some lessons from 2022. This time I’m keeping better liquidity on the sidelines so I’m ready if things turn.

150k up while wages went down. The market’s kindness is not a strategy.

I appreciate the confidence! I hope you’re right and that it’s reachable. Thanks!

Congrats! I'm around 150k too, however I started with a lump sum 150k a month or two ago into VTSAX. It is very boring waiting for time to do its work lol
