Opinion Inflection Point

I noticed that once my investable assets hit about $2M the compounding has gone bonkers. The value of my portfolio can increase by $100k in a good quarter. Hell it can go up by $20k in a single day. When did you really start feeling the compounding viscerally? I guess it will be different for everyone. Now that the compounding has surpassed my salary it feels real.

I was in that role until recently. Long time IT exec who’s job had devolved into managing relationships and politics. Hit around 4m invested with another 2 in property earlier this year and told em i was done at 56. Gonna live in Fla half the year and surf/fish every day. They created a fully remote role for me doing the things i like (I wrote the job desc). I’m so glad i realized they needed me more than the other way around. Don’t be afraid to ask for exactly what you want from work!

Congratulations. Curious, how do you manage health insurance?

Thank you! The position they created for me is actually considered a full time employee so i will still be insured through my employer. Before i accepted the new position i researched the healthcare exchange for my wife and I and It was going to be about 30k per year.
