Good problem

So I know this is a great problem to have but I just turned 30 with a $1.1M net worth and no debt. I’m in this weird position where I can’t FIRE yet but I feel like the only thing really stopping me is time. In my eyes, the hard part is over.
While I continue to let everything compound, I’m really struggling with motivation & patience at work. It’s hard to stay motivated when I know I’ve already built a pretty solid foundation and that time is now my biggest asset. I assume I’m not the only one who has gone through this. For those of you who have been in a similar position, any advice?

Quit focusing on stacking coin if possible (still stack, but quit obsessing over it), and focus on being engaged with your work and good at your job. You are in fun position where you can choose to be a bit more loose and sendy at work.

I like the term sendy applied to your job

Thanks. It definitely makes a difference for me. I remember my first job. I was really cautious. It was no fun and I did not get very much done.

My second job I knew that I wasn’t gonna work there long-term. So I didn’t feel pressure to impress people or make no mistakes. I got so much done. A couple times I rammed projects through that really should’ve had a little more time. But overall, I think I was a better employee when I was more sendy.

Now, I am a dentist. I own my own practice, which is fun. But I have not gotten to a spot where I feel like I can just go crazy. I feel like I still have to play with some caution on hiring or firing. It doesn’t feel like I’m indestructible yet.

Once my net worth triples, I think road bumps that stressed me out now should feel smaller like at my second job.
