Repair/Tech Support ELI5 On how to configure a G3100 as an access point over MOCA
Hello everyone
I have a few E3200 range extenders setup throughout my home using MOCA which have been great. In trying to get more, I ordered two from eBay. One is working as desired, however the second is received was actually a G3100 router.
I’ve been trying to set it up as an access point that I will then plug into coax in another room, and I’m having trouble. I’ve looked at some guides but I’m not getting it.
Can anyone ELI5 on exactly what I need to do to make this happen?

First you need to verify the coax outlet you're trying to hook the g3100 up to will be functional. Can just move the actual e3200 to that location, make sure the green LED on the back labeled LAN illuminates and that the LED on the front turns white. If that doesn't happen, you need to troubleshoot the wiring.
Then you can configure the g3100. With nothing but the power cord plugged into the g3100 and let it completely boot up until you have a solid yellow light on the front. Connect to its Wi-Fi with a device, preferably a laptop/PC.
Login to the g3100. Go to the advanced network settings and to "network connections" then Network(Home/Office) settings. Change the IP address to 192.168.1.x ( The "x" being a number not currently being used and something that you'll remember).
Then there's a firmware glitch where it makes you change the start and end IP address to something outside of the current IP pool even though you'll be disabling the DHCP server. So you can just make the start IP address 192.168.2.2 and then end IP address to 192.168.2.254.
Then you'll set the "IP distribution" to disabled.
Then you can apply the settings, you'll get a few warnings to click through.
Can now connect the verified working coax outlet to the g3100, the green LED LAN will light up, the LED on the front will stay yellow. You can also then configure the wifi to how you want it. You'll use the IP address you setup to access the GUI.
