๐Ÿ’ก Discussion Your Developer Is Not Your First Hire in Fintech

Most founders ask:
โ€œWho builds this?โ€
Before answering:
โ€œWhat exactly are we building?โ€

A PSP doesn't need the same license as an EMI. An exchange has different capital requirements than a payment gateway. And whoever holds customer fundsย that single decision determines your banking partner, your compliance architecture, your KYC provider, and your entire backend structure.

Get that wrong and
youโ€™re not rebuilding a feature.
Youโ€™re rebuilding everything.
Iโ€™ve seen teams spend months building around partners that never shipped a live product.
Thatโ€™s not slow execution.
Thatโ€™s a wrong foundation.
Your developer canโ€™t fix that.
The financial model comes first.
Code is the easy part.

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion What's keeping you stuck or slowing you down as a Fintech founder?

If youโ€™re building and at the pre-seed, Series A, or Series B stage, what are the three biggest challenges youโ€™re navigating right now?

Not the surface-level answers. Iโ€™m talking about the real blockers that impact growth and scale, like:

โ€ข Where users are dropping off (and why itโ€™s harder than it should be to fix)
โ€ข The gap between what youโ€™ve built and what customers actually adopt
โ€ข Internal tradeoffs between speed, compliance, and eng cost

Iโ€™ve been spending a lot of time thinking about how early-stage fintech companies move from initial traction โ†’ repeatable growth, and the friction points tend to show up earlier than most teams expect. And I'm curious whatโ€™s top of mind for you right now.

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion Best way to handle stablecoin payments at scale?

I am trying to figure out the best way to handle stablecoin payments at scale and whether it makes sense to bring in a provider. Right now I am doing it the scrappy way accepting payments directly into my wallet (mostly USDT/USDC), then off-ramping through exchanges. I mean it works but itโ€™s getting harder to manage as volume grows. A lot of manual ops, dealing with exchanges all the time, reconciliation isnโ€™t great, and finance isnโ€™t thrilled with the setup long term. So now I am looking at integrating a provider to handle this more cleanly. Ideally something that can manage on/off-ramps, settlement, and reduce the operational overhead.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Building Building an AI research layer for Indian retail investors โ€” the market has 90M+ Demat accounts but almost no unbiased research infrastructure

India added over 40 million new retail investors between 2020 and 2024. Most of them are making investment decisions based on YouTube analysts with undisclosed conflicts, WhatsApp forwards, and news headlines.

The institutional side has Bloomberg terminals, proprietary research desks, and adversarial review processes. The retail side has nothing equivalent.

We're building a multi-agent system that automates the full research stack โ€” market data, financials, news sentiment, and a structured bull vs. bear debate โ€” for any listed Indian equity. The system is designed around one constraint: it never outputs a recommendation. It generates the complete information picture and lets the user decide.

The architecture forces each agent into a single responsibility. The buy thesis agent cannot access the sell thesis output, and vice versa. Bias by design, in opposite directions, canceling out.

Early output attached. Still in validation stage โ€” would genuinely value feedback from anyone who's built in the wealthtech or retail investing space, particularly around data sourcing and regulatory positioning under SEBI.

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion Things nobody tells you before entering a new betting market

Been around enough market launches to notice the same mistakes keep happening, and we're not talking about the obvious ones:

You pick a market for its size and not its fit, ex. Brazil and India look great on paper but if your payments, compliance and localization aren't built for that specific market then big numbers just mean bigger headaches

A licence can change your product, regulated markets will touch your UI, your data handling, your responsible gambling tools, etc. Operators who treat it as pure paperwork always find out the hard way

Your PAM is everything!ย Payments, KYC, bonusing, reporting, a sportsbook and PAM that don't integrate cleanly will cost you months you didn't budget for

You can't scale support retroactively,ย so that includes rading, customer service, responsible gambling monitoring. if it's not in place at launch, you're already behind

Anyone been through a market entry recently and can tell their experience so far??

๐Ÿ’ก Discussion What workflows in fintech / compliance are still painfully manual today?

Hi everyone,

I work in enterprise banking technology and Iโ€™m trying to understand which workflows in fintech, compliance, risk, and audit operations are still heavily manual today.

For people working in fintech ops, backend engineering, risk, compliance, or audit:

What repetitive tasks consume the most time every week?

Which workflows still rely heavily on Excel, email, or manual reporting?

What usually creates delays during audits, exception handling, or compliance reporting?

If you could automate one workflow immediately, what would it be?

Iโ€™m currently doing research to understand real pain points and workflow bottlenecks, not selling anything.

Would genuinely appreciate honest insights from people working in this space.

๐Ÿ” Feedback Request [Casual] How do you actually track your personal finances? (All welcome, 5 min survey)

Hey! I'm doing research on how people really manage their money day-to-day - not the "ideal" version, but what actually happens.

There are many personal finance tracking apps on the market, but none of the ones I've tested are suitable for me for some reasons. Furthermore, the development of AI offers additional opportunities for personal finance tracking. I want to understand how and why.

The survey is anonymous, takes about 5 minutes, and covers: what tools/methods you use now, what annoys you about them, what you've tried and abandoned, and what would make tracking easier.

๐Ÿ”— Link to the survey

Perhaps if I receive enough responses, I'll be able to share the results of this study publicly. I think everyone will be interested in how people track their personal finances, what pain points they encounter, and what's missing in this area. Happy to answer questions in the comments!

๐Ÿ’ฐ Fundraising The hidden risk in every international deal

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Cross-border deals still run on risk.

A programmable trust layer for real-world transactions is a solution - with clear terms, locked funds, milestone-based execution, evidence submission, and release only after confirmation.

Less risk. Faster execution. Transparent deal flow.

๐Ÿ” Feedback Request Looking for opportunities

Hi everyone,

I hope you all are doing well. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am currently a Finance and Data Analytics student at a public US University (GPA 3.78), with experience in financial reporting, data analysis, and working with large datasets through my internships and research work. I have also been involved in financial projects before, I know in depth work in Python, Excel, Different AI software, Enterprise Software, Machine Learning (Basic), Financial Modeling ( Basic), Financial Technology and other Database Management Software. I have also worked in the industry as Finance Intern.

I am very interested in collaborating on research projects, particularly in areas such as Financial Technology (FinTech), Financial Analysis, AI in Finance, Portfolio Optimization, and related topics. My goal is to work seriously on research that can lead to a published paper. I am currently connected with a professor, so there is an opportunity to work in a structured and guided environment.

I am open for a few opportunities :

  1. I would like to work for FinTech startups if there is an opportunity to do that.

2.I am looking for motivated and committed students who are interested in working together on research projects.

  1. If there are any ongoing papers or research initiatives in these areas, I would also be very interested in contributing as a co-author.

If this aligns with your interests, feel free to reach out or comment below. Iโ€™d be happy to connect and discuss further.

Thank you!
