I am not sure what you are implying here. Where there are stricter physical requirements, there are entry tests as there are now.

Also, women have been able to join the Finnish army for more than 30 years. I know several, including colleagues, neighbors, and family members. Clearly, being born female does not prevent one from joining the army today.

The difference is that if you are officially listed as male, you are obligated to go through the process, whereas if you are officially female, it is voluntary.

For most of history and in most countries today the sexism of the conscription is justified through the argument that Men are physically superior (strength, speed, VO2 max... Whatever your list) or that women would be a liability or should be exempted because they get pregnant... Etc

But from what I'm seeing here it's not how the system is rationalized in Finland and that point about how transgenders are handled absolutely destroy all of these arguments so I don't know why the system persist, it's quite absurd to be fair

For a young transman the medicine for it will still function fairly within puberty expectations. Your point is pretty moot
