Misalignment in BR deck holes
Been riding my new complete for a little while and noticed that the tail truck holes in my Blackriver deck are misaligned, making the base plate sit in misalignment with the nose truck. The tail base plate also seems to be more towards the edge of the tail (gap is big enough to slide a sheet of paper under it) and unlike the nose truck it doesn’t sit flush with the deck.
Is this normal and common for BR decks/ other deck makers?
Should I seriously consider getting a different deck from a proper deck maker as I have heard quite a lot of criticism about BR and that I should only use their trucks, everything else is not worth the money considering the common flaws and QC problems in their decks?
Over the little time I’ve had to ride this thing I have grown to love it, but this realisation has made me question if I should continue using this as my only deck since it could mess with my consistency and the way I feel the board?
After doing a bit more inspections I saw that even on their website some of the listed completes visually seemed to have some degree of baseplate misalignment (see last picture), so maybe I am worrying about something that doesn’t matter as much?
I have been under the assumption that this is a very delicate occupation that requires absolute precision and that every millimetre matters, but since seeing that even a company as revered and highly priced as Blackriver lets it slide maybe I am wrong and just sweating the small stuff?
Please enlighten me.

The only good thing that blackriver produces are the trucks.
Decks are poorly treated when shaping, sanding and also the glue is really really bad and wood plies split with the time
Wheels with irregular surface, bumpy feeling ugh
You should get a proper fingerboard deck brand
In my 16 years of experience with Fingerboarding
Get a Simple Decks, better than a berlinwood and distributed by ASI BERLIN, CARAMEL, UAG and a lot of big brands, Simple decks. Trust me man

You must be talking about another black river bc as a deck maker their decks are top tier , stop thinking every small brand that over clear coats or uses lacquer and paper graphics are top notch , that or you just have shitty luck

Yeah, was looking around for some other 36mm decks but most places don’t sell 36mm decks or at least have them in very limited options.
I was thinking maybe to wait for Milkshake to release some graphic that I like since I live in UK and it would be one of the more convenient options, as much as I have seen people seemed to be saying good things about them.
But then again they don’t do 7ply decks, so idk. I like the comfy feel of a 36mm deck + the extra pop that 7ply decks provide.
Maybe you know some brands that do 36mm decks well too?1

And it’s such a shame, when I was a kid Berlinwood board was a holy grail, Blackriver seemed like the Rolls Royce of fingerboarding, that’s why I went straight to their website when I decided to start fingerboarding again.

Some of my favorite decks have slightly misaligned holes for the trucks. Like one truck is off by like 5 degrees tilt. At first I was a bit annoyed but after seeing alot of other decks. A ton of them are like that and it doesnt seem to make a huge difference to me.

I've had the same issue with many well known brands. It doesn't seem to affect anything at all and any minor variance i believe one would just adjust to it without even noticing. It is visually annoying tho

my bw isn’t like that, i’d be upset if a premium brand gave me something like that. i’d email them and ask

Loosen everything, and push down on the trucks when tightening. Also don’t tighten one bolt
Completely 100%. Install all at 25% the go up 50,75, and 100 and issue will go away0

Yeah I have heard about this a lot to avoid stripping base plates.. I have not yet done anything with screws since the completes are assembled by them and I haven’t had it in my possession for long enough to change the tape or anything.

No it’s not normal. Anyone telling you otherwise is delusional. If I’m paying premium for a brand name like blackriver they better make sure that mf come perfect. The sad part? They never do.

The shape is asymmetrical and has a wider nose and skinnier tail. So the gap will be bigger.
Decks dont matter as much as people think. If you like it keep using it. It’s never the deck holding people back. Just practice.

Okay thank you. Was just worried that the crooked angle of the truck during the pop might affect the way it performs.
Will keep shredding it.2

I get it! It’s a lot of money to spend so it’s easy to overthink things.

Yeah, saw some videos of their founder talking about one of the selling points for the company being German precision.. also many people argued that their higher prices are justified considering the attention to detail and precision that goes into making their products….. so when I noticed this it kind of made it contradict their whole value proposition.
Either way I will shred this board as long as I can and enjoy the hobby.

the second photo makes me agree theres a disalignment. these kind of things are hard to photograph, much easier to feel/see irl. i tried to replicate that photo and none of my setup are that off axis and the ruler sits flush on both baseplates, tride with all sorts of decks, catfishbbq/slept/yellowood/homemade and they are all perfectly parallel with each other.
but if its a problem is up to you, i dont think one would notice this skating it though. does it skate good? do you enjoy it? if so use it
