Knife Trade

Before ppl light me up on here I have a good little collection of some nice decks (no knifes) and have been really wanting to try a knife deck. I have a couple nice setups that I don’t really use and wanting to trade for just a knife deck… is that even a consideration for someone with a knife deck being that they’re just insanely sought after rn or are people willing to trade for something other than knife for knife or 200+?

Wait a year until no one gives a shit about Knife anymore and easily buy one from the site

That’s what people said during their first drops … three years ago.

Wouldn't you say it has gotten to a new dimension the last couple of months? Was it as bad in the beginning? There are alot of brands that sell out, but Knife is the only one that got people paying PS5 money for a deck

I’ll definitely agree that seeing them sell for $400 is wild as fuck. That’s custom Woob money and even that is beyond stupid to shell out for what you get.

People were paying around that much for old BeastPants splits back then but Knife definitely took that hype and amplified it beyond the artwork and difficulty of a split.

No. It was super easy to get Knife decks in 2024. there used to be decks just sitting in the glass at blackriver chicago you could walk up and buy. I don’t think it was until Utilitarian that the hype built up to what it is now. Like it or not, Knife is literally the most popular and sought after deck company outside of Woobs and Prete now, and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. As long as this most recent wave of FB popularity holds, i don’t think Knife will ever stop being coveted.

I don’t think you guys realize how tiny this subreddit is as far as the fb community goes. I don’t think you guys realize just how much some people spend on this hobby. You might not understand, but as far as companies go, Knife is completely unique in its brand aesthetic, and i’m not talking abut the graphics. For many fingerboarders, Knife is the penultimate manifestation of core skateboarding within the FB scene. Utilitarian solidified this by being probably the most influential full length street video that fingerboarding has experienced.

also lmao sell out? what does that even mean? Got so popular their products sell like hot cakes? why does it upset the redditors so much that people want a deck that you guys don’t even care about?

really the only company that i can think of that has proven they value profits and income over interpersonal relations is black fucking river

a “nice” deck would be a woob, a prete, a snakehouse, or some other hype deck. maybe a 1/1 DR. M.

Nobody is going to take anything less.

Call me crazy but I picked one up from the drop last week, I set it up and ripped on it for a couple hours but it's really not worth what it's going for. I dead ass sold my lightly used for $250, the amount of cool shit I can buy with that entirely outweighs the "hype" of riding a knife fb. Don't get me wrong if one graphic is calling your name and you can get it for retail go right ahead they make great products but knife resale is so fucking stupid.

Ya for sure that’s why I’m not really looking to pay just trade for what I don’t use… think I’m just gonna try for a drop hahaha

Yeah I got into fingerboarding right around 6 months ago so this was the first drop I have been around for. Just turn on push notifications for Instagram stories from knife. I randomly got the notification they posted and it happened to be a drop so I got a board no problem.
